If you want to buy something, you can do the shopping in several different places. Many people like
hypermarkets or supermarkets, others go to shopping malls. There are also some people who like shopping
in small corner shops. More and more people choose mail order shopping; they usually use the internet or
their phone to order the goods they need.

First, let’s take a closer look at hypermarkets. They are usually a long way from town centres, so when you
go there you don’t buy only one or two products, but you do your shopping for a longer period. The
advantages of these hypermarkets are that you can find almost everything from food to gardening equipment
in one place and there are also a lot of goods. These hypermarkets offer some things at lower prices so they
are much cheaper than small shops. The disadvantages of these places are that they are usually very
crowded; they are usually a long way from the town centre so you must have a car or you must use public
transport to go there and it can also take a long time to get there and home.

As for small shops or corner shops, you can also buy what you want in them, but you have to visit several
shops to get everything. For example, butcher’s, greengrocer’s, pharmacy and so on. In these the customer
service is usually better than in bigger stores, because the shop assistants help the customers a lot; customers
are more important there. These shops are closer to your home and they aren’t crowded, you don’t have to
stand in long queues. On the other hand, they are more expensive than hypermarkets and you can’t find as
many things as in big shops.

Our family often shop online, because my dad hates shopping very much and both of my parents work a lot,
so they usually do the shopping on the internet. We usually buy electrical appliances, CDs or books.

As for me, shopping is one of my favourite activity, I love looking around the shops, and I love buying
clothes, shoes and electrical appliances. My family go shopping twice a month. I usually help them, even
thought I usually go to the mall in Budapest or Székesfehérvár with my friends, because there are plenty of
opportunity for entertainment for example shops, cinema or restaurants.
