Dear Mrs. Belardo, Mr. Narvaez, Ms. Diaz, and Ms. Ornales,

The Lord be with you and good day! People nowadays have less time to break in the
canteen and queue to place orders and receive food. A typical canteen management system is
now in use. It isn't a computerized system. Payment at a traditional canteen is made using cash.
Only little canteens will be able to handle this situation. The user is required to carry cash at all
times. Users and canteen employees waste a lot of time using this system. People working in
the canteen are occupied with manual accounting, extra paperwork, dada recording, and
providing a service to customers.

To address this issue, the project's proponents are asking permission to create and
install an RFID-based system in Rogationist College's Munch canteen. This project is proposed
by Steven Kiel M. Hermoso, Conan Rich M. Hipolito and John Benedict P. Pacpaco from the E -
Canteen Project.

As a result, we respectfully need your assistance in implementing this project, which will
benefit Rogationist College students, teachers, and other workers. Personnel will install the
system and maintain it for the duration of the project.

Sincerely,

SCB Tech Corp.

ABSTRACT

Queuing has become a national pastime in this country. Filipinos don’t have an inherent

love for queuing. Students here often queue up because they have no better option but to wait

for a merchandise or a service they desperately need. One just needs to look at the long

snaking lines at the canteen to understand the dilemma of a choice faced by the students.

Students waste a long time waiting in line to obtain goods they are willing to pay for. Getting a

meal, for instance, takes half an hour at least, during the rush hour.

“Munch Canteen E-Payment Transaction Using RFID” is a proposed project to be

submitted to our Reading and Writing Skills, English for Academic & Professional Purposes, and

Religious Education subject. It is a designed project for the students of Rogationist College.

During face-to-face classes, students have no choice but to wait for half an hour just to order

and have their meal. Thus, students from the Rogationist College Senior High School

Department will be proposing this project. This project aims to lessen the long queue in cashiers

and long transaction time.

CONTEXT OF THE PROPOSAL

Most canteens use pen-paper, coins, guide calculations and guide stock document

preservation that consumes a lot of time and indicates an inefficient manner to function an

enterprise. With the usage of RFID generation, decreasing provider time, time, removes

queues, removes the weight of counting, and gives change. The use of RFID generation also

can be a dependable manner of storing the facts and going via them easier (Mall and Shaikh.

2017). RFID eases the paintings of each college student and workforce as it is able to be used

at many locations like libraries and canteens. Since it's far related to a completely unique ID, it

could ensure the student’s security (Nsengumuremyi et al. 2018). Challenges aren't exempted

while transitioning to a coins foundation approach to a cashless approach (Pizzol et al. 2018).

But with the assistance of this system, it is no longer the most effective assistance enterprise,

however it additionally improves the improvement of the country’s economy (Soukal and

Hedvicakova, 2014).

Moreover, RFID technology which aims to be one of the most convenient and efficient

payment transaction systems in terms of different cases which confidently use payment systems

that rely more on physical transactions than contactless transactions which are solely more

appropriate for this time being (Arbonida et al. 2019) . RFID can also provide convenient

transactions if the user is a bit far from the store; they have the option to transact online and not

on the physical store itself. Nowadays, users tend to implement and welcome cashless

transactions because not only it can generate efficiency but also it can display a faster phase of

purchasing goods; with the idea of the researchers the access and errors can be limited

because of the system transactions that will be beneficial for the user and also the

concessionaires of the physical store itself (Mall and Shaikh. 2017).

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION

Queues are one of the problems in the school canteen especially for the students who

regularly buy their meals. In Rogationist College, we can see long queues in almost every

canteen during lunch time. Sometimes it makes you lose your appetite to keep waiting in a long

queue, particularly ones that seem to move very slowly. Also, being in a queue for a long time

may result to not having enough time to eat their lunch. It would be more efficient and saves

time if all canteens have an option for cashless transactions where all payment transactions are

handled in one card. In response to this, the proponents propose a project entitled: “Munch

Canteen E-Payment Transaction Using RFID”. The objective of this project is to lessen the long

queue in cashiers and long transaction time in the canteens of Rogationist College. This

cashless payment system will benefit the canteen owner, canteen workers and students. In

addition to this cashless payment system, there will be no cash involved which will reduce the

risk of theft and loss. With centralized account balances stored in a central and digital server, it

allows cards or other cashless payment systems to deduct value from the payment card and is

able to prevent any harm where the card may be blocked instantly in the event of any loss or

damage cards used. Cashless payment systems can be used with card, smart cards or other

contactless media such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). It is also possible that the

RFID chip that is used for the cashless system can be installed in the student Identification Card

or school ID for lesser hassle.

TARGET GROUP

This project can make transactions in school canteens smoother and easier. This could save a

large amount of time and costly resources. The main beneficiaries that could benefit from this

project are the following:

Students. They will be the ones getting the most benefits in this project since they're the ones

who mostly visit the canteen everyday. This project can benefit them greatly.
Canteen employees. Many canteen employees struggle when taking orders in the canteen.

This project can help them eliminate the burden of counting, and giving change. This project will

surely help them make their work easier and faster.

Teachers. Many teachers have always waited too much time to fall in line in the canteen to take

their orders. By the use of this project, it will make their transactions hustle free while having

extra time preparing for their next class.

PERSONNEL INVOLVED

Because of the long queue in the canteen, students spend a long time in the canteen

buying their food and having their meal, hindering them from doing another task that they want

to do. The people listed below are the proponents and the main personnel involved in this

project. In addition, they will be the one that will lead and conduct the completion of the project.

Finally, several sponsors and mentors will also be taking part of the project to guide and aid with

the successful implementation of the project.

held randomly or at the end of each month. After gathering and organizing the data, the

proponents will analyze and evaluate it for them to know the effectiveness of the project.

Personnel that will oversee these are also the team Rogationist College Senior High School

who proposed this project.

REPORTING SCHEME

The progress of the project and the finances would all be reported before the first

phase. The installation, official launch, and data gathered from the surveys and interviews would

also be recorded. Moreover, the financial report would include all the expenses like the salaries

and budget utilized for the utilities and equipment.

CONCLUSION

Every day we can see long queues in almost every canteen during lunch time. At

times, it makes you lose your appetite to keep waiting in a long queue, or you may simply feel

like leaving the line altogether. Also being in a queue for a long time may result to not having

enough time to eat during lunch time. To resolve this problem, the project entitled “MUNCH

CANTEEN E-PAYMENT TRANSACTION USING RFID” was proposed by the proponents to

lessen the long queue in cashiers and long transaction time. In addition, the students would

greatly benefit from this project because it will give them extra time to relax or do any task. And

because of the COVID-19 virus, this project can also lessen the chance of transmission through

money.
