Q.1 Statutory construction must be home-spun even if hospitable to alien thinking. Marks 4
Foreign decisions based on same system of jurisprudence & which are rendered
on statutes in pari matria. Explain with the help of relevant case laws.

Q.2 An expression used in earlier statutes dealing with same subject matter may
be referred. It is immaterial whether made at different times/expired/ even Marks 3
not referring to each other. Explain with the help of relevant judicial
pronouncements.

in the interpretation of the statutes? Assess the importance of any two of the
