THE STRATEGY - FPO ECO-SYSTEM

Poverty is multidimensional, and encompasses low and unreliable incomes, as well

as lack of access to basic goods and services. It creates its own harmful feedback
loops in two ways. Firstly, being poor makes people vulnerable to economic and
climatic shocks that can worsen pre-existing financial distress. This is often the case
with rain-dependent smallholder farmers. Secondly, poor individuals have higher
barriers and fewer opportunities to advance out of poverty

Despite significant strides made over past decades, Indian agriculture remains highly
risky, especially for smallholders. Though the agricultural sector accounts for 40% of
total employment, it contributes <16% to the GDP. Inefficient value chains and
supply chains lead to major food losses. Lack of access to quality inputs, information
on weather & crop data and infrastructure compounds the problem.

Empowerment of marginalised farmers by collectively improving productivity, gain

market linkages is a herculean task, which is possible only through FPO by
partnering with non-profits, government bodies, start-ups, crop insurance providers
and also with potent, cost effective bio pesticides and fertilizers to meet the
expectation of well informed consumers at affordable prices.

To have a eco-system in the agriculture chain system by providing seamless access

to inputs and services including seeds, irrigation pumps, machinery and primary
processing centres, the proper use of which can improve productivity by 30% and
reduce input costs by 20%, also with increase in market value by 25% and provide
forward linkages that increase and stabilize farmer incomes mainly through direct
processing, add value to agricultural produce and marketing them by the Small &
marginal and Women farmers, themselves with establishment of local warehousing
& logistics including cold chain.

Small & Marginal farmers should have access to essential finance at affordable costs
for income generation and bridging cash flow gaps to mitigate the unpredictability
and vulnerability of agriculture and to boost productivity, increase and stabilize
farmer incomes, and enable access to markets, information, and other inputs &
services.
WRF, the said financial instrument is a bridge loan, which bridges the financial
urgency of the farmers between the harvest and starting the next crop and also gives
breathing time to decide about the processing & adding value to their produce for
economical gain.

Am a free lance FPO facilitator, with an aim to make agriculture sustainable and
getting optimum price to small & marginal and women farmers for their produce
through the management which is transparent, well-governed, ethical businesses,
and strongly prefer those who not only comply with but exceed basic requirements in
legal, environmental and social standards.

My mission is to make the small & marginal and women farmers to generate income
in all 365 days by embracing allied activities and direct contact with consumers
through their forums by providing quality produce with reasonable price.

Being a Para Data Scientist with experiential knowledge at agri. grass root level with
PAN INDIA exposure, have conceived the idea with strategic planning, operational
planning, tactical planning and contingency planning, along with using of ICT in
agricultural domain for desired results as envisaged in FPO eco-system.

The highlight for achieving the above is the convergence of governments schemes
with subsidies and grants in a phased manner along with the expertise of stake
holders in the FPO eco-system.
