So today was my twelfth birthday and I am exited about it as I was finally able to unlock my
system I am sitting on my bed at 12 in the morning,during these years I felt people looking at me with
pity because I have no mana, damn you suckers I’m gonna knock you out after I get my system. That’s
when I heard a computerized voice binding to host….1%..2%…….10%, as I started to wait finally it

WTF system you kidding me right even after doing this I need to hunt to gain exp dude seriously I
should have worked out more and not cared about being short because of it, fuck. If I am not wrong
then if I don’t complete this then I will have to go through the nightmare training chased by giant
centipedes nope don’t want that.
I go to sleep deciding to get up and start my training the next morning.
Next day I head towards the ground under the giant skull in order to train in seclusion and also hunt
the prey without anyone questioning what I was doing. As this would be the way I would be going to
survive the next 3 years before getting my grimoire.

Its been a year since I started my workout and hunting. Right now I am chasing a non-magical
boar to hunt down its running through the trees me giving chase running after it, getting to e- rank
actually gave me a lot of boost required in hunting animals I had to start with smaller animals initially,
squirrels and small rabbits, these animals did drop small yellow crystals, which I could not use due to
the shop being closed , so I just bury them in one place and will take them out afterwards when I get
my grimoire and the rest of the system.
The boar turns right darting towards the trap I built, well you see the system will give me exp till I
kill it, it does not matter weather I use traps, or fight it head on. But external help is not allowed in the
exp gain, it falls into the pit that I had dug and covered with leaves and sticks I jog up slowly to the pit
and see the boar impaled by the wooden spikes I planted in the pit, I hear a notification in my head
{normal boar killed exp gained}
Yeah this fucker does not even tell me how much have I gained, so basically all it does right now
is display my stats

Another year has gone through and I am still stuck on E rank unable to gain exp because I am killing
too many same kind of animals, but come on you cant expect me to fight a pack of wolfs they may be
non magical but a predator is a predator for a reason.
Anyway today I was watching Nash, and the other younglings they have picked up an annoying
habit of calling him master. I am half expecting Yuno to walk in one night with a hood and use his
wind magic to make a sword. Cough
I broke away from the dreamland when I heard Sister lily call us for lunch, we started to walk
back to the church the kids immediately surrounded Yuno asking him to show his magic, yeah is mana
level I am pretty sure is on the level of a noble. I pay half attention to them and start setting the table
up for the eight of us in the orphanage.
Right now is Father Orsi, Sister lily, me, Yuno, Nash, Recca, Aruru, and Hollo. Me and Yuno are
the oldest so we take up most of the responsibility for Recca and Nash, while sister Lily takes care of
Aruru and Hollo. We sat down for our meal we had rabbits today hunted by yours truly. While having
a nomotato side dish. We start eating, with the usual dinner time talk Yuno being quite as usual and
me and Father Orsi indulging in small talk.
When I heard “Asta you plan to become the wizard king right??” I turned and saw Hollo looking
at me, and I was like ‘ah, shit here we go again’ it happens sometimes that the kids make fun of me
for wanting to become the wizard king, without any magic power. Yeah what a joke if it wasn’t me I
would have done the same damn thing. I looked at him and said with absolute confidence “ Yeah I am
going to be the Wizard King”, “yeah? Says the person with no magic power” Nash commented “says
the brat you can’t use his own power carefully and set something on fire” I say with a smile on my
face, knowing that this round was in the bag, “hey that was a one time thing” Nash tried to talk back
his eyes filling with tears. I felt a chill down my spine I saw sister Lily smile at me while all the others
were looking down. Fuck! Have to do the chores now, I mean why am I getting punished he started it.
I think as I started finishing up my plate as the meal continued in silence. Afterwards I started clearing
the table over the years this place has grown on me, I care about these people as much as they care
about me. Though I admit initially I saw them as a means to an end, just to get my work done until
one day I started treating them as my family.
“You know you really shouldn’t bully Nash in such a way” I heard sister Lily say when everyone
was out of the room , “well he started it” I replied without turning back, “still he is your little brother
you should not be so hard on him”, “yeah, a brat who doesn’t understand how tight the situation is..”
‘Fuck’ I cursed under my breath
“how did you know?” Sister Lily asked quietly, I turned around saw her looking at the floorboards, “its
gets pretty obvious when Father sells his expensive broom and gets a cheaper one, and how long
before he starts pawning off his personal belongings for our sake” I answered with a slight frown on
my face, getting back to work,
“You kids don’t need to worry about it” Sister lily said while looking at me,
“its as much of my responsibility as it is yours,and you do realize that I will have to leave when I turn
15 right?” I saw as I carry the dishes behind the church to wash them leaving Sister lily standing alone
in the room biting her lips in frustration
