11 SWEENEY’S CAT is making the 3rd start of his current
form cycle after taking a positive step forward when he
shook off double trouble (bumped, steadied) to finish 2nd
at this level and distance. Larry Bates has Paco Lopez in
the saddle. 7 MY COUSIN JOE is stretching out to a mile
after the promising turf debut in which he rallied to finish
3rd vs this level of competition going 7 ½ furlongs.
4 REINOANIMAUX is dropping to the $16,000 level after
closing to finish 4th vs $25,000 maidens last out. Trainer
Humberto Toledo lightens the load with 7-pound bug
Gaddiel Martinez.

RACE 2:
6 CAJUN PUZZLER is a son of win-early sire Cajun
Breeze debuting for trainer Mike Yates, who has a solid
win percentage with Cajun Breeze babies: Chantal
Sutherland rides. 5 KITODAN is making his 2nd career
start after rallying to finish 3rd in his career debut at this
level and distance. Trainer Jorge Delgado, 29% with
maidens making their 2nd start, has Jose Morelos atop the
only previous runner in the field.
3 TRUST OUR JOURNEY is a son of American Pharoah
debuting for trainer Carlos David with a couple of solid
workouts showing over the Palm Meadows training track:

RACE 3:
2 FLORADO is dropping to the $6,250 level after
following the $12,500 maiden breaker with a poor
showing vs $12,500 ‘2-lifetime’ claimers last out. Trainer
Jose Noda, who claimed her 2 starts back, has Edwin
Gonzalez handling the dropdown. 3 DINNER AT FIVE
moves to the Gilberto Zerpa barn via the claim, and turns
back to 7 furlongs, after stalking the pace and fading vs
this level of competition going a mile last out.
1 FREEZER BURN moves to the Victor Barboza barn
after the claim, and stretches out to seven-eighths of a
mile, after the chase-and-fade outing going 6 furlongs last
out. The barn, 29% with new claims, has Miguel Vazquez
in the irons.

6 MAJESTIC STREET is stretching out to a mile and a
sixteenth after the solid career turf debut in which he
dueled for the lead throughout and finished 2nd. Trainer
Mark Casse has Miguel Vazquez up. 5 BACKCHAT is
stretching out after recovering from trouble at the start
(forced out) to finish 4th behind Majestic Street going 8
furlongs. Trainer Kent Sweezey has Paco Lopez handling
the rematch. 2 GOLDEN TONE, listed as a gelding, the
son of Tonalist gets blinkers after getting mugged at the
1/8th pole in his grass debut going a mile vs state-bred
maidens. Jane Cibelli has Rajiv Maragh in the irons.

11 SMART SPENDING is stretching out to a mile after
following her $50,000 maiden victory going a mile and a
sixteenth with a troubled (lacked room) 2nd vs this level of
opposition going 7 ½ furlongs last out.
2 KATE’S KINGDOM is stretching out to 8 furlongs after
taking the overland route when finishing a wide 3rd behind
Smart Spending last out. Trainer Armando de La Cerda
has Hector Berrios in the saddle. 6 ITALIAN TWIN
renews the rivalry with the top two after recovering from a
bobbling start to finish 4th behind them. Trainer Mike
Maker has Edwin Gonzalez trying to reverse the previous
outcome.

RACE 6:
4 LOYAL LOUIE, now in the Peter Walder barn, the son
of Country Day moves to the main track after back-to-
back 2nd place finishes going 5 furlongs on the turf.
Trainer Walder, 40% with the grass-to-dirt angle, has
Miguel Vazquez named to ride. 3 CAMP PENDLETON
is cutting back to 5 ½ furlongs after rough outing where
he clipped heels, stumbled, and bumped, when finishing
4th vs similar going three-quarters of a mile. Trainer
Antonio Sano has apprentice Gaddiel Martinez in the
saddle. 6 DOO WOP DON is dropping to the $25,000
level, and getting Lasix, in the first start since hitting the
board in 2 of 3 state-bred maiden special races during his
freshman campaign. Trainer Ed Plesa Jr has Paco Lopez
in the irons.

RACE 7:
6 MOONSHINE NOW is dropping to the $16,000 level
after returning from the 7-month layoff to encounter traffic
going into the first turn before rallying late to finish 4th vs
$25,000 maidens. Trainer Christophe Clement has
Emisael Jaramillo named to ride.
7 DRUM AND DRUMMER is another dropping to this
level after stalking the pace and finishing 5th – beaten 3
lengths – at the $25,000 level. Trainer Kelly Breen has
Paco Lopez up. 3 HE AIN’T NO SAINT has been
knocking on the door in 4 consecutive races at this
$16,000 level. He’s a must-use on the ticket, but not so
sure about the top spot.

RACE 8:
3 SPEARGUN is turning back to three-quarters of a mile
after responding in the first race after the claim by Ruben
Gracida with a duel throughout 2nd – beaten a half-length
– vs state-bred allowance runners going 6 ½ furlongs:
Paco Lopez rides. 6 VINNIE VAN GO moves to the Peter
Walder barn via the claim, and drops to the $12,500 level,
after dueling for the lead and finishing 4th vs $16,000
conditioned claimers. Trainer Walder, who conditioned
this horse last summer, is 26% with claims.
5 STAR JUANCHO is stretching out to his best distance
(27-5-7-7) after rallying to finish 2nd vs $12,500 state-bred
optional claimers going 5 ½ furlongs: Chantal Sutherland
rides.

RACE 9:
3 FLOWMOTION, a 5-time local turf winner, drops into
this $16,000 dated claimer in the first start since finishing
6th vs $25,000 optional claimers here during December.
Trainer Jane Cibelli, 28% with the 61-180 days layoff, has
the hard-knocking 7-year-old training forwardly for the
return. 2 FACE OF VICTORY is turning back slightly to 7
½ furlongs after setting the pace and finishing 3rd when
facing this level of competition going a mile last out.
Trainer Emmy Gaffney has strong front-running jock
Emisael Jaramillo at the controls. 4 ALL AROUND
moves to the Kelsey Danner barn via the claim after
responding to a dropdown in competition with an even 4th
place finish – beaten 2 lengths – vs $16,000 conditioned
claimers going 6 furlongs on the dirt. The gelded son of
Caleb’s Posse is bred on both sides on the family tree to
respond favorably to both the surface and the distance.

RACE 10: THE BIG DRAMA
5 WELL DEFINED, 5-2-1-1 at the distance, turns back
after setting the pace and just getting caught at the wire
when beaten a neck going a 1-turn mile last out. Trainer
Kathleen O’Connell has Emisael Jaramillo atop the speed
of the speed. 6 R MERCEDES BOY is back locally after
shipping up to Tampa and finishing a troubled starting 2nd
in the 6-furlong $100,000 Sprint. Trainer Georgina Baxter
has Paco Lopez handling the stretchout to 7 furlongs.
1 OLD CHESTNUT is back on the main track after
returning from the extended layoff to finish a chase-the-
pace 2nd vs $62,500 optional claimers going 5 furlongs on
the grass. The son of Speightstown, who does his best
running from a stalk/close position, can end up sitting the
trip behind the expected pace duel between the top two.

RACE 11: THE HONEY RYDER
9 CON LIMA, a multiple graded stakes-placed performer
on the Gulfstream turf, is headed back to the grass after
setting the pace and finishing 2nd to Crazy Beautiful - on
the dirt - in the Grade 2 GP Oaks. Trainer Todd Pletcher
reunites the daughter of Commissioner with Paco Lopez,
who rode her to victory in the Ginger Brew Stakes.
4 POR QUE NO will be tested for class when she puts her
impressive 4-race win streak on the line. The previous
winner at this mile and a sixteenth distance will have
Miguel Vazquez in the saddle. 6 COWORTH PARK,
another from trainer Todd Pletcher, is stretching out to 8
½ furlongs after rallying to finish 5th – beaten 2 lengths –
in the 1-mile $100,000 Sanibel Island last out. The
daughter of Lea will have Edgar Prado at the controls.

RACE 12:
5 THIRSTY OWL is dropping to the $16,000 level, and
getting both Lasix and blinkers, after encountering trouble
at the start and failing to get untracked in a 1-mile maiden
special weight race that’s has turned into a monster ‘key-
race’ that’s produced 5 next-out winners from only 6
starters: Mario Pino rides. 8 DREAM OF ANFIELD is an
obvious choice in this wide-open nightcap after finishing
a stalk-the-pace 4th in his career turf debut at this level
and distance. Georgina Baxter has Marcos Meneses in
the saddle. 11 GUN OF GLORY is turning back to a mile
and a sixteenth after shaking off trouble at the start to
finish 4th behind similar going 9 furlongs last out. Murat
Sancal has Carlos Lugo handling the outside post.
