ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF ABM STUDENTS DURING FACE TO FACE

CLASS COMPARED TO MODULAR DISTANCE LEARNING IN PORFIRIO G.

COMIA MEMORIAL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.

Statement of the Problem

This study described the Academic Performance of ABM Students During Face to
Face Class Compared To Modular Distance Learning In Porfirio G. Comia Memorial
National High School.
Specifically, this study sought to answer the following questions:
1. What are the demographic profiles of the respondents?
2. Is there a significant relationship between the learning style of the students to the
academic achievement of those students enrolled in ABM strand?
3. What are different learning styles and study habits of ABM students during face to face
and MDL such as:
3.1 Visual Learning Style
3.2 Tactile Learning Style
3.3 Auditory Learning Style
3.4 Group Learning Style
3.5 Kinesthetic Learning Style
3.6 Individual Learning Style
4. Based on the findings, what instructional intervention may be proposed to help ABM
students of PGCMNHS succeed in their academics?
Conceptual Framework
This study is anchored on the concept of the Academic Performance Of ABM
Students During Face To Face Class Compared To Modular Distance Learning. The
conceptual model of this study mainly consists of input, process, and output as shown in
Figure 1.
The input variables were the Visual Learning Style, Tactile Learning Style,
Auditory Learning Style, Group Learning Style, Kinesthetic Learning Style, Individual
Learning Style of ABM students during face to face and Modular Distance Learning.

The descriptive correlational component of the study under the process box also
revolved around the personal profile of the respondents, their learning style preferences,
and academic achievement. When students recognize their personal learning styles and
attitude, they can take part purposively in the learning process. However, the process box
also includes questionnaires which the researchers use to determine the different learning
styles of the students.
And lastly, the output box contains the proposed instructional intervention to the
school institution of PGCMNHS to increase the Academic Performance of ABM
students.
INPUT PROCESS OUTPUT

 Demographic profiles of
the respondents.

 Different learning styles

of ABM students during
face to face and MDL
such as:
-Visual Learning Style
-Tactile Learning Style
-Auditory Learning Instructional Interventions
Style  Questionnaire to increase the Academic
-Group Learning Style Performance of ABM
-Kinesthetic Learning students
Style
-Individual Learning
Style

 Relationship between
learning style of the
students to the academic
achievement of those
students enrolled in
ABM strand

Scope and limitation of the Study

This study was conducted during the school year 2021-2022 in selected students
enrolled in ABM strand in Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National Highschool. It
investigated the difference in academic performance of ABM students during face-to-face
class to Modular Distance learning. The descriptive correlational design of research was
used with the questionnaire as the main data-gathering instrument and ABM students as
the respondents of the study.
Furthermore, this study is limited to students enrolled in Accountancy and
Business Management (ABM) strand only. Its limitations fell on the responses of the
students in the researcher-made questionnaire. No other instruments were used to gather
the needed data.
