What’s My Number?

Day 1
Draw a circle on a piece of paper and fill in the numbers 1-8 as
shown below.
Use a pencil and a paper clip to turn this into a spinner.

Draw a chart like the one below in your notebook. Use your spinner to fill in each
column. When you spin you can decide which column to put that number in. For
example, if you spin a 6 first, you can choose whether to place it in the thousands,
hundreds, tens or ones column. I chose the hundreds column. When all the columns
are full, write the number you have made in the last column. Make four different
numbers.

thousands hundreds tens ones My number

4 6 7 9 4 679

After making your four different numbers write each number in words like the
example below.

My number in words= four thousand six hundred and seventy-nine

OPTIONAL: You can try a 5 and 6 digit number too.

5 digit example: 25 347= twenty-five thousand three hundred and forty-
seven.
6 digit example: 346 892= three hundred and forty-six thousand eight
hundred and ninety-two.
