George Raymond Richard Martin is known as

George R. R. Martin, he is a writer of fantasy and
fantastic literature. He grew up in a working-class
family, since he was a child became interested in
reading and within a few years wrote some short
stories, George graduated from college in 1971,
directed chess tournaments and worked as a
journalism professor at the Clarke Institute in
Dubuque, Iowa.

At the time of 1980 and 1990 working as a

screenwriter in Hollywood, in 1996 he left Hollywood and retired to Santa Fe (New
Mexico), where he returned to the world of literature starting with the novel Game
of Thrones: Song of Ice and Fire, with this novel has obtained great success and
fame, since with it begins a great fantasy saga that still does not end, is a novel
known worldwide for its wealth of characters and a fantastic story.

He is currently writing the sixth book of the Saga Song of Ice and Fire: Winter
Winds. This saga of novels is undoubtedly the one that has catapulted him to the
top of his career as a writer.
