sc rip on d e ti Skies of Fire by: Rhane Marielle Leidia
I looked at the sky and the slanting rays of the sun
touched my skin as I wear my black and white checkered flannel. I reached for my sunglass that was hanging on my sleeveless crop top's neckline and continued walking down the narrow street of Liliw, Laguna. It's already 5:30 in the afternoon and the sun is starting to set. Later on, the blue sky changes its color into an orange with a mix of red, and a touch of pink hues. Its radiating light reaches even the tiniest bits of dust in the roads of Liliw. It's time to go home once I bought the slippers that I will take home with me. I entered the car and sat at the back seat before plugging both of my earphones into my ears. I played a relaxing song as I stare at the sky with a fire of a blazing sun. Then, the fiery sky was placed by a dark and jet black sky with the moon shining and stars twinkling. Now is the time to rest after a long day of enjoying and traveling from Nagcarlan to Calamba. But there was a thought popping inside my head. The sunset was labeled as warm, welcoming, and beautiful, however, some people thought of it as the ending. But for me, sunset is an indication or a sign of a new beginning. Even though we all have a different perspective about the sunset, let’s not forget that every sunset promises beautiful dawn. We may suffer from cruelty but at least we still stood up and bravely face the new and fresh start that awaits. So, the sunset is beautiful, isn’t it?
