Personal Profile
I am a committed, enthusiastic and diligent individual who can build lasting, meaningful relationships
with the people around me, students, parents and staff. I truly enjoy working as a team in order to
achieve the goals set out by all members, but especially in the interests of getting involved in extra-
curricular activities such as coaching, supervised study and games club for example. I like to keep my
teaching methodologies and lesson planning up to date so I can deliver the most effective lessons
possible and maintain such high standards for the benefit of my students.

2018-2022: B.Sc. (Honours) in Education (Design, Graphics and Construction), Level 8 GMIT
Letterfrack. GMIT, Dublin Road, Galway. (Final exams in April 2022).

Teaching Experience

Date: November 2021- February 2022


Employer: The Abbey CBS, Station Rd. Tipperary
Duties: Teaching Placement 3. During this placement I taught 1 st Year Wood Technology, 2nd Year
Graphics, TY Construction and 5th Year DCG covering all 4 subject areas. I developed a great relationship
with my co-operating teachers, students and school. This really developed my teaching skills even
further. This placement consisted of a 10-week period with 10 hours minimum of independent teaching
per week. However, I was lucky to receive many hours of subbing work and covering classes which also
helped me gain valuable experience dealing with a broader variety of students. I also got involved by
helping with extra- curricular activities such as attending games and training Junior/ Senior rugby after
school and at lunch times. I also done supervised study after school.

Date: November 2020- February 2021


Employer: Thurles CBS
Duties: School Placement 2. This placement consisted of an 8- week period of 10 hours of independent
teaching per week. This experience was different to all other with Covid-19 having a major impact on
school activities. After Christmas we were faced with more challenges in the form of online teaching.
Here, I received training in Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, Zoom and various other programs which
I put into practice for the remaining 4 weeks of placement. I taught my 1 st and 2nd year Wood
Technology and Graphics groups through a mix of live Team classes and pre-recorded lessons and used
Teams for communication and assignments. Presenting lessons online in a comprehensive manner and
further developing skills using Teams to enhance student’s experience. At the end of my placement, I
taught Math’s at Junior Cycle for 4 weeks.

Key Skills
 Computer: Proficient on Microsoft Platforms such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.
 Technical: Knowledgeable and comfortable with using SolidWorks and Auto CAD.
 Teaching: Developed from my work placement as part of my course, developing lesson plans,
managing classrooms and using visual learning.
 Teamwork: Developed from my work experience, college and sporting field.

Employer: Cashel Community School, Dualla Rd, Co.Tipperary.
Duties: School Placement 1. Covering/ supervising classes at short notice. Assisted students with
learning difficulties- one to one work (SEN). Supervised Junior/ Senior cycle students while completing
their Wood Technology/ Construction projects. Involved in extra-curricular activities i.e Junior/ Senior
Ladies Football and yard supervision.

Date: July 2018- July 2022


Employer: Camp Rockwell
Duties: Camp Leader for three weeks every summer from 2018 to current. Responsible for large number
of children in, indoor and outdoor activities ranging from ages five to fifteen. Training and awareness of
children with specific needs, including health and safety, first aid, TUSLA and dealing with and reporting
on injuries and behavioural issues.

2020- Present: Providing grinds in my subject areas to students up to Leaving Cert.

June 19’ & 21’: Assistant Reader, Scribe and Superintendent for State Exams-
Acted as an assistant reader and scribe for Junior/ Leaving Cert exams.

October 19’- 21’: Part time shop assistant in local Butchers-


2 years’ experience in TJ Ryan Family butcher where I worked in the Fruit and veg, Bakery and Shop
Floor. Spending most of my time there dealing with customers, preparing and serving deli food and
dinners.
