II. Speaking:
Describe a happy day that you have had.

  You should say:

             When was it

             Where were you

             What happened during the day

and say why you think it is a happy day.

I'm thankful for the many happy events I've had in my lifetime, perhaps when
my parents got me a pet bird or even when I received my favorite book from a
friend. Yet, great memories often fade away a little after. Nevertheless, I can
vividly remember this one significant moment, the first time I have ever seen
my grandparents.
This event took place about 4 years ago, back in the summer of 2016, when I
was about 9. Everything was perfectly normal, with my family still following
our busy everyday routine. But everything completely changed when my mom
got an unexpected call from my aunt. My grandpa became seriously ill.
I can still recall how shocked my parents were after hearing the news, unlike
other people, my relatives and I live very far away from each other, in this case
my family and our grandparents reside in two different regions, about 600 miles
apart, which I heard was because of an unfortunate incident in the past. In fact,
during the holidays my mom and dad still have a lot of work to do, as well as
me and my sister to take care of. Because of such inconveniences, we have not
had a single chance to visit relatives face to face since I was born.
As already mentioned, this was the first time I saw my distant relatives. Part of
me was excited but I couldn't stop thinking about the current health of my
grandpa and it didn't make any difference for my parents. When we arrived, my
grandma rushed out, bursting in tears for how happy she was, meeting her
grandchildren not in Facetime calls but in real life. I had so many mixed
emotions inside at that moment. The rest of my week staying there was just
chatting with my grandparents, watching television, and learning to cook dishes
with my grandmother. It doesn't sound special, but it has remained to be my
happiest week. I felt so grateful that all that time away from my own family was
somewhat fullfilled in a simple week. My parents also realized how important a
family is and afterwards we visit my grandparents every year. Of course we
weren't able to travel lately due to the pandemic, but we still contact at least
twice a week and I hope I'll see them shortly.
