1. GENRE; Romance and Religious drama

2. SUBJECT;

The novel Ayat-ayat Cinta 2, this novel is about the love between Fahri and Aisha. In addition to
talking about love, it also raises moral and religious massages. How should differences be met with a
fine attitude based on mutual respect and affection as a fellow human. Regardless of religious and
racial differences. The figure Fahri teaches us to continue to help others and to create harmony
despite the indignities of many people. From this novel author also try to tell about love story that
the mate will not go anywhere. If it’s meant be, God never let it go anywhere.

3. THEMES;

a. Major themes; the romance between husband and wife, it tells of the love journey of Fahri
Abdullah and his beloved wife Aisha. An increasingly tested love with a wide variety of complex
issues. Tell about Fahri in his longing for his soul mate, Aisha. Trials of love that Fahri faced after
Aisha’s disappearance. And about his endless longing for his wife and Fahri’s doubts about marrying
again.

b. Minor theme; for a minor theme developed by the writer on the novel Ayat-ayat Cinta 2 is
tolerance in religion and it particularly appropriate to the current Islamic state. It provides an idea of
true muslims, aside from love stories, the writer wrote this novel was about human relationships
without knowing religious differences, preaches in goodness and this novel it also continued with
Fahri’s story where he lived in Europe (Edinburg) and lived in tolerance with neighbors who had
different religions. Although some of his neighbors hate Islam.

4. PLOT;

Type of plot: Forward


 Exposition: It start from Fahri now living in Edinburg and even becomes a lecturer at
University of Edinburg, but he was forced to live his daily life alone. Together with Uncle
Hulusi, his Turkish household assistant, he continued his life without Aisha.
 Rising Action: The fact that his beloved wife now vanished somewhere, made Fahri
miserable and almost desperate. So Fahri always spends his days immersing himself in the
busy work, research, teaching and business.
 Climax: For more than two years Fahri grieved and drowned in the search for his soul mate.
Until he moved to Edinburg the city that Aisha really liked. He tried to get rid of his sadness
while improving the image of Islam and and Muslim and do many other activities.
 Declining Action: In Fahri’s new residence, he does good to his neighbors, spreads the
science of religion on various parties, and help people who needed regardless of feathers.
 Conclusion: Many activities were carried out by Fahri. And a moment where when he was an
arranged marriage by his famil and until the disturbing opinion from many friends and
family, about he will be single forever after Aisha left, or he will meet a new wife again.

5. SETTING;

Novel Ayat-ayat Cinta 2 take a set in one of the pretty cities of England, the city of Edinburg, a small
town in Scotland. A leading university, Edinburg University became the opening page of this novel as
Fahri’s teaching place. The place Fahri lived before he moved to Edinburg, on the Stoneyhill Grove
and also take a set at the boutique AFO boutique shop, Agnina mini market and an Agnina koel
restaurant that owned by Fahri and Aisha. This novel also involves a place on princess street and a
building and a very beautiful atmosphere there in that afternoon. And Stirling Castle the place of
William Wallace’s heroic tale that was enshrined in a monument.

6. TONE;

In this film the author try telling to readers about how is the story romance of Fahri and Aisha, the
love romance of the couples separated and finally re-convened by God and many Islamic counsel in
it, and also the contemporary dakwah in this novel. This novel is not merely a literary work, but is a
medium of dakwah Kang Abik For the readers. And this novel also very relevant to the state of Islam
today, which is Islam as a religion of peace, where muslims are feared by the West with the issue of
terrorism, this novel trying to solve the issues of Islamophobia. It is also presented by the author
with many historical stories relating to Islam, which can be studied by readers. So, too many Islamic
sermons and Islamic dakwah in this novel we can find. This novel describes how to be tolerant of a
religious life. And how we can protect our religion from lying and untrue issues about Islam
7. MOOD;

When the reader reads this novel, the reader will experience in every touch in detail from this Kang
Abik’s novel. This novel can make the reader curious and enthusiastic in reading every story that is
interesting and has extensive knowledge that makes our curiosity even greater. This novel is also
able to make readers carried feelings of the love story lived by Fahri and Aisha it makes the reader
feel grief over their divided love story because of Aisha’s disappearance. Tense story between the
conflict between the main characters and the antagonist and another nervous event between Fahri
and Baruch that angered the reader and finally this novel makes the reader feel happy about Aisha
and Fahri’s love story when Aisha suddenly returns. And it also confusing to the reader to whether
Fahri stays with Hulya or continue his love story with Aisha, his beloved wife who was long gone and
now return. And novel Ayat-ayat Cinta 2 can heal the reader’s longing for the novels of Ayat-ayat
Cinta 1 that makes the reader carried away when reading it.

8. VOICE;

Author Voice – of all the novels made by Kang Abik all of them are mostly romance novels. Which
makes it unique is that Kang Abik always makes his novels as a medium of Islamic da’wah. So he
always makes love stories with Islamic love stories. Not only that, in this novel also the author wrote
a lot about various sciences, Islamic advice with the theme of humanity and a lot of history to make
writers know about things.

Character Voice – in the character voice of the main characters or narrator is Fahri, a good and
religious figure, he views the world with thousands of positivity in his view, he always does good to
everyone according to what is recommended in Islamic religion. Always has the same view of all
people regardless of the person’s identity and try the best to change the bad image of Islam in the
eyes of the world.

9. ATMOSPHERE;

The story of Fahri’s life when Aisha’s disappearance was able to make the reader feel the sadness
felt by Fahri. When Fahri living in Edinburg and even becomes a lecturer at University of Edinburg,
but he was forced to live his daily life alone. He continued his life without Aisha. The fact that his
beloved wife vanished somewhere, made him miserable and almost desperate. Until he moved away
and led an ordinary life while still missing Aisha. In his sadness confronted with a situation that made
him confused because of his match with Hulya. Fahri’s tension at the time he marrying Hulya,
happiness moment when Fahri and Hulya having a child named Umar. Until Fahri’s pain at the time
of Hulya’s death. And when finally Aisha’s return to his life made Fahri and Aisha live in happiness
together with Umar too.

10. NARRATOR;

The point of view used was that of a third person, Focus on the Fahri as the main character. This
perspective is displayed by omniscient over something related to Fahri.

11. CHARACTERS;

a. Main Characters, Cast who became the main characters in this film include; Fahri (Fedi Nuril), the
Main Character and a lecturer who is very religious and kind, who is also Aisha’s husband. And next
is Sabina (Dewi Sandra) as an illegal immigrant who has an ugly face and as a street beggar who is
saved by Fahri from some terrible events until then Fahri makes Sabina his household assistant. And
Hulya (Tatjana Saphira) Aisha’s niece and the woman who has finally introduced to Fahri.

b. Supporting, Next are uncle Hulusi (Pandji Pragiwaksono) Hulusi is Fahri’s Turkish household
assistant who followed him everywhere. Misbah (Arie Untung) was Fahri’s friend from college who
lived with Fahri for a while. Mathias Muchus as a Fahri’s uncle and Fatimah (Syifa Hadju) as a Fahri’s
younger sister

c. Antagonist, there are Keira (Chelsea Island) Fahri’s Islamophobic neighbors, she and her brother
Jason (Cole Grobble) hated Fahri very much because Fahri is a Muslim. And then Baruch (Bront
Palarae) son of granma Chatarina, who was ungodly to his mother, he even hated Fahri who had
defended her mother and he also invited Fahri to debate religious matters.

d. Protagonist, there are Brenda (Nur Fazura) their good neighbor but like drunk too much and
grandma Catarina (Dewi Irawan) who was always helped and protected by Fahri and think of Fahri as
his son.

12. MORALS;

Individual moral values related to God contained in the novel Ayat-ayat Cinta 2 by Habiburrahman
El-Shirazy include, that we can learn as a Muslims we must believe that God exists and is fair to all of
his servants. Perform the five daily prayers, always try and pray to Allah, and make it habit to read
Al-quran so we can have peace of mind from Allah. Always believe that death in the hands of God,
dzikir of Allah. Remember for stay away from God’s prohibition, give thanks to Allah and believe that
Allah knows best for all his servant lives.

Individual moral values related to society contained in the novel include, as a Muslims we are
required to tolerate religious differences, and establish good relations in communicating with others
without seeing differences in religion wherever we are. Help others who need help regardless of
feathers, have mutual respect for others, advising others in kindness, and this novel also teach us for
having a sense of caring for others as a sense of humanity that is in us.
