In the language of lesson objectives, there is such a thing as enabling objectives and
terminal objectives. Differentiate these two objectives and give examples.

Learning Activity/ Topic: The Love Story of Eros and Psyche

A. Terminal Objectives

a. The student is expected to analyze and comprehend the narrative, as well as to integrate the
lesson that will be discussed.

b. To recognize the ways in which learners might use the tale to obtain insights and ideas.

B. Enabling objectives

a. Analyze why the love story between Psyche and Eros is significant, how it is considerable, and
how it correlates to real life events.

b. Collaborate with other learners to study the narrative by expressing your thoughts and opinions
in order to extend your horizons.

C. Concentrate your attention on the discussion. Study, read, and communicate effectively in
class.

The difference:
Terminal objectives are the expected level of competency, performance and skill that a student
should be able to acquire after the discussion. Enabling objectives are the specific steps that the
students should do to achieve the terminal objective. The enabling objectives helps the student to
attain the terminal objective since each enabling objective addresses the terminal objective. It also
help the students track their progress.
