Site Summary: The Cincinnati LEND Program is part of a national network of 52 LEND
programs across the country. The mission of LEND programs is to improve the health of infants,
children and adolescents with, or at risk for, neurodevelopmental and related disabilities
including autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). A major focus of LEND is to increase the number
of professionals with the knowledge and skills to provide evidence-based screening, diagnosis
and treatment of developmental disabilities, including ASD.
Responsibilities:
 Conducted multi-disciplinary diagnostic assessments to patients ages two years to six
years referred for concerns related to Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other
developmental disabilities.

 Received formal training on batteries focused on developmental testing including the
ADOS-2 and Bayley-4 administered under direct supervision.
 Provided interpretive feedback to parents/guardians regarding developmental testing
results and recommendations at the end of the testing session.
 Collaborated with various treatment team members (e.g., speech therapist, occupational
therapist, pediatrician, medical prescriber) regarding continuity of care, progress towards
goals, and recommendations for continued course of treatment
 Participated in weekly individual and group supervision with supervisors.
 Attended the LEND program twice weekly, including the Leadership Seminar,
Interdisciplinary Training Team (ITT), Core Course, and Seminar in Evidence-Based
Methods (SEBM).

Site Summary: Counseling and Wellness Services (CWS) is the on-campus counseling center for
Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. CWS offers a wide range of therapeutic services to the
traditional and non-traditional aged college students including individual therapy, group therapy,
assessment, and crisis intervention/triage.
Responsibilities:
 Conducted diagnostic intake interviews for traditional and non-traditional college student
population ranging from age 17-50.

 Common presenting problems included trauma-related concerns, Adjustment Disorder,
Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety disorders,
depressive disorders, Panic Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), eating
disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and racial trauma.
 Facilitated in-person and virtual individual and group intervention services utilizing a
variety of theoretical orientations, primarily cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT),
Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
 Conducted evaluation for services appointments which consisted of rapid assessments to
identify level of patient risk and provide treatment recommendations.
 Administered comprehensive psychological assessments (e.g., cognitive, personality, self-
report, achievement, behavioral, projective, and neuropsychological). Frequently

Site Summary: EIBI is an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based program that provides
direct instruction in a classroom setting with an overarching goal of social-communication.
Duties include direct instruction, managing learning goals and objectives, and developing
behavior management plans.
Responsibilities:
 Provided group and individual interventions using ABA to clients ages 3-7 diagnosed
primarily with ASD and ADHD.
 Intervention goals included working to increase language development, fine motor
development, cognitive development, self-regulation and adaptive skills.
 Conducted individual therapy using techniques from ABA and CBT to desensitize a client
with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder to solid foods. Administered preference
assessments and self-report measures with the parent to aid in effective treatment.
 Co-facilitated a Social Skills Intervention Groups for children with a variety of clinical
disorders including ASD, ADHD, behavioral, and anxiety disorders.
 Developed an increased competency in clinical writing by writing behavioral intervention
plans and session notes.

Resilient Young Ladies and Gentleman’s Program (RYLM), Elective Practicum

Site Summary: This site works to expand access to mental health services to youth in the inner
city of Dayton, Ohio. The Resilient Young Ladies and Men Program (RYLM) is an evidence-
based intervention consisting of positive behavior coaching and assessment.
Responsibilities:
 Conducted in-person and virtual individual and group interventions with children and
adolescents with behavioral disorders using interventions from CBT, Behavioral and
Psychodynamic theoretical perspectives.
 Individual interventions focused on promoting positive behaviors including respect,
responsibility, safety, and self-control.
 Administered comprehensive psychological assessments (e.g., cognitive, personality, self-
report, achievement, behavioral, projective, and neuropsychological). Emphasis was placed
on learning to administer projective measures to aid in diagnostic clarification and treatment
planning.
 Group interventions consisted of co-leading Self-Expression Groups which also encouraged
the development of positive characteristics for at-risk African American (grades K-5) youth
in the city of Dayton.
 Developed and implemented program curriculum focused on teaching emotion
identification and regulation to at-risk African American youth (grades K-5).

 Completed extensive literature review.
 Began creating program content including content modules which include a lesson plan,

Description: Ohio FASD Steering Committee aims to provide education to the public about the
impact of prenatal alcohol exposure, engage in screening for FASD, reinforce efforts to increase
diagnostic centers and provide support to the community partners who are caring for, treating or

agencies in the state of Ohio to connect the efforts to improve the lives of those impacted by

Responsibilities:
 Created an evidence-based parent training module to accompany this sites established
parent training curriculum based on the topic of repetitive, rigid and ritualistic behaviors.
The module content focused on the ABC’s of Behavior (Antecedent, Behavior,
Consequences) and strategies that accompany the perceived functions of behavior.
 Provided feedback and recommendations for the consultee on effective methods for
future administration of the created deliverable.
