SIMPLE PRESENT - AFFIRMATIVE FORM)

The SIMPLE PRESENT is used to talk about regular activities (routine/habits)

ex: I go to the gym every day.

The SIMPLE PRESENT is used to talk about things that are generally true (facts)

ex: I like ice cream.

AFFIRMATIVE FORM:

(I/YOU/WE THEY) - subject + verb (base form) + …

ex: I work at Believer.


I study English every day.

(HE/SHE/IT) – subject + verb + s/es/ies

*normally we add S to the base form of the verb: ex: WORK - WORKS

*verbs ending in consonant + y, drop y and add IES ex: STUDY - STUDIES

*verbs ending in S/SH/CH/X/O/Z, add ES

ex: GO – GOES WATCH – WATCHES FIX – FIXES

COMPARE:

I go to work by bus, but he goes to work by car.

She lives in a big house, but we live in a small one.
