CAUTIONS AND NOTES

Handling of ink packs

• The safety evaluation of this machine assumes that the ink recommended by this company is used. For safe usage
of this machine, use the ink recommend by this company;

• Use the KM genuine ink. Remember that the user shall be filled for a repair to correct any damage resulting from
the use of ink other than the exclusive type;

• The machine does not operate with any ink other than the KM genuine ink;

• Do not refill the ink in the bottle;

• If the ink cartridge is moved from a cold place to a warm place, leave it in the room temperature for three hours or
more before using it;

• Insert the ink cartridge just before installing it in the machine. If it is opened and left for an extended period, normal
printing performance of the machine may not be ensured;

• Make sure to store ink cartridge in a cool and dark place;

• Store ink packs and waste ink bottle in a place that is out of the reach of children;

• Be sure to thoroughly consume the ink on the cartridge, once it is opened, within six months. If an extended period
has passed away after opening the ink bottle, printing quality would be poor;

• Neither pound the ink bottle nor shake it violently, as doing so can cause leakage of ink;

• Do not touch or stain the contacts of the QA chip, as doing so may cause damage to the print circuit board;

• Waste ink is equivalent to waste oil of industrial waste. Request an industrial waste disposal company for disposal
of waste ink.

Handling of media

4.3. Windows configuration

4.3.1. Setting up the wired network adapter on

After powering up the machine and connecting it to the dedicated computer through an Ethernet cable, open the
dialog box “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP) Properties” for the wired network adapter.

In the dialog, select “Use the following IP address” and fill the fields “IP Address” and “Subnet mask” within the IP
range 192.168.250.10 to 192.168.250.254. Set the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.

The IP address 192.168.250.10 is the recommended since it will allow the support team remote access to the
machine network devices when using TeamViewer.

There are however IP addresses already being used by the machine that are static and cannot be changed:

• Printer controller: 192.168.250.5

• Media path controller: 192.168.250.1

An attempt to change those IP addresses will cause an unexpected behaviour and might damage the machine.

9. QUALITY ISSUES

9.1. Ink misting

Ink Misting probably caused by aerosol accumulation on the printhead. Activating the pre-job maintenance, it is
performed a wiper procedure before printing begins. This will eliminate the printing contamination.

This can also happen in long runs. In these situations, we must activate the mid job maintenance.

That misting appears before the mid job service (MJS). Using the MJS the problem disappears.
