3. Compare the variability of the two data set.

(Note: Use coefficient

of variation CV)

1st Data Set

Formula: Coefficient of variation:(𝑠/𝑥) ∗ 100%
GIVEN:
Sample mean (𝑥 ): 6.833333333
Standard deviation:(𝑠): 1.763291071
Solution:
 1.763291071/6.833333333=0.258042596

 (0.258042596) ∗ 100% = 25.80%

 Therefore, the coefficient of variation of the 1st data set is

25.80%

2nd Data Set

𝑥̅ =6.2

𝑆 = 2.1408721
2.1408721
CV= ( ) 100%
6.2

CV= (0.345301952) × 100%=34.53%

 The coefficient of variation of the 2nd data
set is 34.53%
From the given data sets, the coefficient of variation of the 1st data is
25.80%, while the 2nd data set has a coefficient variation of 34.53%.
Hence it means that the 1st data set having a lesser variability is more
consistent when it comes to its performance than the second data set.
