Data Analyst (2008-Present)
Manage all enterprise data in compliance with the procedures and guidelines esta
blished by the corporation.. Maintain and distribute key product master files to
corporate marketing teams, which involves querying and validating data using MS
Access and MS SQL. Create documentation that outlines data analysis methods and
testing strategies in addition to creating reports used to verify data integrit
y between all enterprise systems. Managed the Sales Department's internal Custom
er Information Management System (CIMS), which involved assigning districts and
routes as well as adding the names and addresses of new clients. Also, administe
red the Product Information Management System (PIMS), which involved adding new
products and validating Universal Product Codes (UPCs), and other required produ
ct attributes descriptions, categories, types, shelf code dates, etc.
* Ensured data integrity between all reporting systems - namely Data Tracker,
Hyperion Essbase, Sales Discovery, and Crystal Reporting - by preparing detailed
reports that supported data analysis and verification efforts.
AS400 Assistant System Administrator (2005-2008)
Administered 4 LPAR systems running on an IBM AS400 platform. Managed users prof
iles and security access rights to libraries, applications and files. Monitored
system performance and operating capacity in terms of disk space, tape storage a
nd CPU utilization. Supported the implementation and maintenance of AS400 system
security patches. Responsible for applying security codes to third-party softw
are. Provided technical and operational support to end-users. .
* Played a key role in successfully upgrading the company's legacy system from
IBM AS400 to IBM iSeries.
* Achieved recognition for successfully implementing and converting jobs from
Macro4's AutoJob to IBM's Advance Job Scheduler (AJS) as well as training techni
cal support staff on the effective use of the new scheduling system.
Data Center Operations Manager (2003-2005)
Maintained a 24/7 corporate data center, which involved supervising, training, s
cheduling and monitoring the performance of 6 staff members working on 3 differe
nt shifts. Ensured the efficacy of access security protecting all AS400 (iSeries
) computers, which processed the majority of business data. Supported efforts to
ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations. Instituted data backup
procedures and retention cycles to facilitate the protection and recovery of al
l enterprise data. Provided 24/7, on call support to all business users.
* Minimized overhead costs and eliminated duplicate processes by consolidating
5 data processing sites to a single corporate data center; commended by the Exe
cutive Director of IT for successfully completing the initiative.
* Championed efforts to maintain SOX compliance processes pertaining to file a
nd network access security (using Active Directory Services), user authenticatio
n reliability, security integration and OS/400 security provisioning.
Data Center Supervisor (2001-2003)
Led, trained and supervised the performance of computer operators of a 24/7 data
center. Completed special projects - as assigned by the Director of Computing S
ervices - to improve IT effectiveness. Facilitated the implementation of a secur
e operating environment for iSeries computers. Created, modified and prioritized
automated schedules for application systems and data backups.
* Served an integral role in reducing paper costs by establishing a paperless
environment that enabled users to receive reports via email (using Spool Organiz
er) with the option to print as needed.
* Eliminated the cost for purchasing special forms - i.e. statements, packing
slips and invoices - by converting to laser printers and implementing an image c
onverter that enabled the printing of most corporate documents on standard 8.5 x
11 white paper.
* Improved data storage reliability after successfully proposing and implement
ing processes to backup and store data on CDs as opposed to microfiches, which w
ould smudge and become unreadable.
