333 years of Spaniard colonization in the Philippines overlapped origin Filipinos standard. Yes, Spaniard
is a great influencer in the history which leads to developed Filipinos life into a modern one. Clothes
were design to fully covered the revealing skin especially women, education were strengthened, beliefs
of Christianity, ways of living and many development changes that until now Filipino adopted and used
it. Government control flash chaos to Filipino lives. Many people especially those without connections to
military force suffered a lot and life became miserable –Spaniards strangling Filipinos. Violence become
rampant in the society. Filipinos has no right to speak up. Many wives and children lost their head of the
family which caused of abandonment. Filipino become servant and imprisonment of its own land where
one wrong move or disobeying the given rules/laws was resulted to killing which made them afraid and
decided stay silent for a long duration. For the long time no one have the courage to be the defender of
human rights. They were weak to defeat and fight against colonizers. They are used of being use. And
today we finally experienced freedom and victory. Filipino lost everything for the seek of freedom. Is this
we called freedom? Are we really free in all aspect to express ourselves? And, Is our freedom we
experienced today would be for lifetime until the next generation?

José Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda break the chain of Filipino suffering. We struggles,
sacrifice and invest our own life for something it needs to perform successfully just like Jose Rizal. His
words awaken the spirit of every Filipinos to defeat using the only sword without flesh involved, his
novels. His two novels named Noli Me tangere and its sequel El filibusterismo where formed the
nucleus of literature that inspired peaceful reformist and revolutionaries a like. His works subconsciously
gravitated to open new hope for new generation. As an exchange of the freedom we dreamed of, he
sacrificed his life. His life from the beginning appeared usual childhood -a creative, talented and
observant normally a child did. In his childhood years his passion to put something peace makes it clear
to him. At the same time he experienced a lot of difficulties. His bothers responsibility pass unto him.
He survived different dilemma he encountered which made him selfless. He left his family unsure
knowing the country’s situation and sacrificed without his family beside him. Thus, sacrificed his life
because of love.

We make better decisions because of the love we hold on to. We face our problems with brave spirit
because our loved ones believed us to. We go beyond our capability to showcase there’s greater can
show because of love. And we bloom differently because of love. Just like Rizal, he did everything
because of the love og his land. He was never been hesitant to offer the life he have, instead he
convinced and pursued other people to fight back in order to claim independence. There’s romantic
inspiration he encountered in the journey, he got rejected, betrayed and become an option however,
he’s a man of wwords. Rizal dont lose hope for some heartbreaking event in life. At some rejections
there’s another opportunity to open.He travel around the world to spread the news about the pain
Filipinos have been experiencing. He never fails to distribute his works to vulgar Spaniards unfair
treatment. He put his life into writings even after of it the consequences is his life too.

That era, Rizal didn’t force to fight instead his novels is the sword itself. Today’s generation, we are
totally experiencing freedom of expression. We expressed what we felt towards governance and any
current events. We build today’s generation transparency of all issues. We cannot deny the fact there’s
still a bias, sensual and prejudice. Leading to this are networks, political colors and business matters why
we experienced misinformation, disinformation and unreliable sources. We preferred to listen and read
articles what we feels factua and judged other sites and network publishing wrong information. On the
contrary side, balancing of thoughts, ideas and opinions we hear and listen everyday in the news is
significant. Let’s try to dig deeper what’s the truth behind every biases and prejudice. Perhaps just like
Rizal's era, we are deprived from the fact we need to know. We don’t need someone to sacrifice life
again. We need to open our eyes and ears what’s really matters and important to us which will help us
today and for the next generation. I can sense we are free from colonizers but being colonized by our
own perspectives that we know it’s wrong. In connection to the current situation, we should be a voice
to the voiceless people. An ear to listen and a hands to hold everyone’s society concern. Heroism should
start from each one of us. Because I believed we portray different heroism in the society, it’s either
simple discipline of “not believing to any fake news” and only believed to what is fact.

Jose Rizal is a foundation of what a character should be a like. His greatness deserve the title “National
Hero of the Philippines”. There's beyond the reason of his heroism not just because of his literary works
but also because of his heart itself.
