ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT), Durg affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami
Vivekanand Technical University Bhilai initiated by notable stalwarts of
central India in 1986 with a vision to become one of the Premier Technical
and Management Educational Institutions in the Country, delivering
excellent professional education, creating value based, globally
competitive professionals and achieving excellence in all our endeavors.
BIT campus has a conducive and supportive academic ambience
facilitating high quality education and research for more than 4000
students of bachelors, masters and doctoral programs. BIT, Durg is the
first technical institute in the state to be conferred Autonomous Status by
UGC, Gov. of India. Seven of its undergraduate programs have

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Vision of the Department is to create globally competent Civil
Engineering professionals by delivering value based quality education to
serve the society. The Department is one of the first core branches
established in 1986 with a mission of offering qualitative technical
education and effective interaction with industries giving special emphasis
on R & D and Consultancy. The Department is NBA Accredited offering PG
Courses in Structural Engineering and Environmental Science &
Engineering. The department is proud of its learned and experienced
faculty, well-equipped laboratories and infrastructure. The department has
been recognized as a consultancy centre for road construction, traffic
census, material testing, structural design, etc. by leading private and
government agencies.

AICTE is committed for development of
Quality of Technical Education in the country
by initiating various schemes launched by
Govt. of India. Ministry of Human Resource
development council understands that there is
a need of the day to train the young
generation in skill sector and having faculties
and Technicians to be trained in their
respective disciplines. It is felt that training
with latest tools and Technologies is vital to
keeping an institute competitive and more
productive. Training is required for increasing
the knowledge and skills of students to make
them employable to acquire Global
competencies. It also transforms them to
harmonize with society and most importantly
to make them a good citizen of the country.
Accordingly it was decided to establish AICTE
Training and Learning (ATAL) Academies at
different parts of the country

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Increasing urbanization, economic, and engineering activities in any
developing country result in more energy requirements and consumption
demand, which leads to environmental degradation. India is amongst the
developing countries with environmental policies, legal frameworks, and
economic instruments, as per global standards but lack of awareness and
people's participation in pro-environmental behaviors the environmental
conditions is worsening.
The objective of the FDP is to equip academicians, researchers, and industry
personnel with the right understanding of pro-environmental behavior for
Green Technology & Sustainability Engineering so that the future engineers
know about the pro-environmental regulations and policies and develop
