I. Analyze the following excerpt with roman numerals. Be sure to label what key
you are in.

II. Writing Cadences:

Write the following cadences using only I and V in root position in 4 parts (SATB). Begin with a
key signature and the outer voices, then fill in the alto and tenor lines. Analyze each chord with
roman numerals.

A. Imperfect Authentic Cadence (IAC) in B♭ major and F♯ minor:

III. Error Detection Involving V and I

Each example contains one or two errors, including errors in construction (e.g. missing choral
member, poor spacing, incorrect doubling, etc.) and voice leading (e.g., parallels, direct intervals,
nonresolution of tendency tones, etc.). Identify and label the key (hint look at the second chord
for the key); label and circle each error. Rewrite the corrected versions on the manuscript below.
They should all be in root position (5/3) and use proper voice leading.
