By rolling flat products:

Rolling is the means of production of sheets. This is an operation during which the product passes
between two cylinders, undergoes a reduction in thickness in favor of an increase in length.

Two types of work are used:

 Hot work: for large section reductions. heating temperature around 830°C for steel.

 Cold work: to produce thin sheets and for calibration.

1.3 Classification of sheets:

 Depending on the thickness:

 e < 3 mm: Thin sheets

 3mm < e < 4.75 mm: Medium sheets

 e > 4.75 mm: Heavy plates.

 Depending on the quality:

 TC: standard sheets (bending)

 E: sheets for ordinary stamping.

 ES: plates for deep drawing.

 X: the surface condition may have scratches.

 Z: the surface condition is perfectly polished (piece
