The following phrase was used as a background figure to support the soloists: ‘The repeated notes which end the A section were often played in sour dissonances. The Zea For Two counterline ut B pays tribute to one of Mingus’ favorite picces from the American popular song repertoire. Mingus sometimes called this piece Monk, Punk, and Vice Versa.
