REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

(CONSULTING SERVICES)

Integrated Supply Chain for Bamboo Based Floor Board Business

Sector - Industry

The African Bamboo Company has received a grant from the Agriculture Fast Track Fund
through the African Development Bank Group toward the cost of the Integrated Supply Chain
for Bamboo Based Floor Board Business, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for
this grant to payments under the contract for the preparation of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical
engineering & design plans.

The services included under this project are;


(a) Pre Engineering design for all Plants and Machineries
(b) Production Plan
(c) Maintenance plan

The consultant should come up with,


- completed and detailed plans and specifications, bill of quantities, drawings, maps,
static and dynamic loads of the machinery and other documents which enables the
construction of the Project
- prepare a draft Package Bidding Document taking into account a complete
contractual responsibility for the supply, installation, commissioning and handling over
of equipment and all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works
- establish routes and schedules for work that will ensure the optimum utilization of
materials, workers, and machines and to provide the means for the company to ensure
the operation of the plant in accordance with the production plans.
- plan maximize the efficiency and useful life span of equipment,
- develop a guideline for minimizing production loss from failures and breakdown of
equipment
- plan to avoid or minimize industrial hazards resulted from poorly maintained
machineries and equipment
- the consultancy service is expected to be completed within three months period.

The African Bamboo now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these
services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to
perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar
conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-
ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in
accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of
Consultants” dated May 2008, revised July 2012 which is available on the Bank’s website at
http://www.afdb.org.
