I received a call late the other night from my
youngestsister,Beverly,who is 59 yearsold' She
told me to call Candy to the phone becauseshe
had some good news to share.
When Candy arrived,sheannouncedthat shewas
getting married and by the sound of her voice, we
could tell shewas thrilled. We had had the oppor-
tunity of meeting and getting to know her fianc6
aboutsix monthsago.
She has beensingleall her life which madethis
moment all the more special.Bev and I are only a
year apartin age,so we have always beenclose.I
was honoredwhen she askedme to be the one to
perform the WeddingCeremonY.
Yesterday,sheand my older sister stoppedby my
office to surpriseme once again and to say that
they were on the way to look at Bridal dresses
with Candy.Sheaskedif I could come along,that
it would mean a lot to her.
So, I rearrangedmy scheduleand met her and the
happy crew there at the shop. She was alreadyin
her first dress.When she came out to show us,
she was beaming.I have never seenmy sisterso
happy and so beautiful.It touchedme deeply.

I thought of my mother and father who loved her
so and had prayed all their lives that Bev would
one day meet the right man and find the compan-
ionship and joy of marriage. The truth is that all
her life, Bev has been praying that sameprayer
andhad probablythought that was one prayerthat
God had decided not to answer in the way she
hoped.Well Mom and Dad never got to see that
prayer answeredwith their own eyes, but their
prayeris being answeredstill!
There may be prayersyou have beenpraying for
yearsand years.Don't give up! There are some
prayersthat we may never see answeredin our
life time, don't give up!
