island unique.

to their island that represent their culture. Such as; country flag, animals, vegetation, historical landforms
or things of importance to the child.
Curriculum-Framing Questions

Unit Questions How many landforms are there?
Content Questions What is a unique characteristic of each landform?
Assessment Summary:
Formative Assessment: The teacher can check for understanding before the group
activity when the student has to draw each landform on the white board. This will allow
for the teacher to check for prior knowledge and to see areas that may need to be
revisited.
The teacher will walk around and listen for key words and for active student
engagement through out the groups. If a student appears confused or not engaged the
teacher can communicate with the student to see if something is keeping them from
participating and work to solve the issue.
Summative Assessment: The groups will show their understanding by using symbols
and drawings to create landforms on their map.
The students will have a large group discussion to share their map with the rest of the
class. This can be used as their exit ticket to end the lesson. If any students need
further instruction the teacher can work with them one on one or in small groups
During free time throughout the day.
