Uy:

The webinar as a whole had many organizational “parts” that I did not really
expect. I believe I expected the webinar to be quite straightforward and simple. As it
stands, I eventually learned that there is a lot that goes into a webinar and even more
that goes into a well-planned and organized webinar. I think the greatest challenge was
really finding guests and inviting participants. In terms of guests, I am thankful of Luke
and the fact that he was able to find guest speakers for the event because I did not
really have an idea of where to start in this area. This is a disadvantage of being a
student in this field (or any field) as one does not really have connections to call upon if
one needs a favor or the like. Additionally, the participant search was also challenging. I
believe the time was a concern for those that could have potentially been a part of the
webinar. Many friends I have are working and the 3-6 PM schedule is right in the middle
of their workday. Additionally, when webinars don’t have CPD units or similar incentive
attached to them, it is quite challenging to find willing and engaged participants for this
event. Regardless, as a whole, I felt like the event went well and I am happy to have
heard the talk of Dr. Naranjo. Her topic is essentially what I want to do and practice in
the future so I want to use her talk as a sort of jumping off point for my future goals and
plans.
