 Fighting for the truth. Even though he knew that he was going to get in trouble by
writing all of the novels that exposes all the wrong doings of the Spaniards, he
still did it to fight for the truth.

3. How did Rizal inspire you as a student?

 Jose Rizal is such an inspiration to Filipinos especially to the youth. His life and
works somehow shaped me to simply be a good citizen and a good student.
 We all know that Rizal was not just a simple Filipino nationalist but he was also a
great journalist, poet and an ophthalmologist. He excelled at anything he puts his
mind to and this characteristic of Rizal inspires me to also be good in everything
that I do. I want to really get out of my comfort zone and grasp a lot of
opportunities.
 His works made me understand his love for our country and as a nursing student, I
also want to apply his values and beliefs in serving my countrymen. Rizal inspires
me to study harder in order to be a great nurse someday. By studying harder, it
will not only make me a registered nurse but also a competent one. I genuinely
want to serve many and give them quality care in the future.
 With Rizal being a great writer, also inspired me to be to be good in literature.
Since my junior high school years, we have been reading a lot of Rizal’s novels
and I remembered owning a little notebook with a lot of compositions of mine. I
wrote a lot of song compositions, poems and simple stories.

 He wrote a lot of books and he used it to expose the real situation Filipinos was
facing during his time. Having limited rights and the harsh rules of the Spaniards,
how they wanted Filipinos to serve their country, made me want to become more
socially aware of the happenings and issues our country is facing especially today.
 We all know that election is coming and part of being patriotic is to be politically
aware. Rizal's love for our country made me want to be more informed politically.
with all the issues our country is facing, our votes and the role we play has an
impact on the decisions made. these decisions affect our future as younger
generations so we should be taking it seriously.
 Rizal was indeed a hero who showed that we can fight for our country without the
use of aggression and I want this to be applied in the today's society. as elections
heat up for 2022, many people fight each other just to show their full support to
their desired candidate. For me, we should not come to this point, fighting
wouldn’t do anything. Let’s just take our time and research to inform people by
writing blogs and sharing reliable information to people. We should take
advantage of the technology and cite as much credible sources we see online.
 Rizal was not a perfect person but I want to apply all his positive values and
beliefs to my life. He was known for his God-fearing heart and I also want to
always put God in everything that I do.
