EFFECTIVE ASSESSMENT

Effective assessment is based on criteria that students are familiar with and
understand, according to the lecture. Prior to an assignment or test, assessment criteria
must be explicitly specified and made obvious to students so that students may focus
their efforts. Furthermore, students should be included in the development of evaluation
standards whenever possible. It is significant to me since assessment benefits both
students and teachers. Teachers can analyze their own teaching effectiveness on a
regular basis. Teachers can use assessment to ensure that students understand what
they need to know to satisfy the course's learning objectives.
