The Hayek family can impact the corporate culture either negatively or positively.

Based on the
case study, the Hayek family positively impacted the corporate culture since 1983, when Nicolas
Hayek established it. Mr. Hayek had instilled a positive culture in the organization where every
employee was valued and cared for in equal measures. After his death, his daughter Nayla
upheld the good culture practiced in the company. Therefore, I think the Hayek family
influenced the corporate culture by valuing every employee regardless of their cultural
background. The family enhanced teamwork, deep commitment, loyalty, and humility across the
company.

The Swatch Group is an international company with over 37 global subsidiaries and has
employed over 37,000 employees from different cultures. Therefore, I think the Hayek family
has impacted the international culture positively through shared norms and values. The fact that
Swatch brands have become cultural icons in the global marketplace means the Hayek family has
enhanced cultural integration.

Answer: The reason for Swatch's strong cultural following is its cultural integration and
technological advancement in its innovation. The company has embraced cultural integration
where it employs people from different cultures without any forms of discrimination. Based on
the case study, the Swatch Group is bilingual and culturally diverse by design. Consequently, the
company has invested heavily in technology and innovation. It has been designing watches that
meet targeted groups' needs. For example, it designed a plastic watch that turned the world watch
upside down. This is because the plastic watch had unexpected appearances that were attractive
to many customers. Therefore, its strategy of designing new products as technology advances
and strengthening its brand has created a strong cultural following. Some people refer to its
ability and muscles in the watch world as the "Swatch Revolution," which means the company is
one of the market leaders with a large market share. Its involvement in sports has also made it
become a global brand. The company uses sports to promote its watches.

1. Answer-

I think watches can indicate a person's culture. This is because watches tend to show the aspects
of an individual's wealth, personality, and situation. Some people choose to wear certain watches
due to their cultural influence. With the current technology, watches can get embedded into
someone's culture. The Swatch Group can personalize or customize a watch based on the
customer's culture. Consequently, a watch can be personalized based on different aspects such as
the age of the targeted group, education level of the targeted group, Gender, and type of brand.
For example, the Swatch Group may decide to design Flik Flak over the Omega brand.
Moreover, I also agree with the statement that a watch can create a cultural image. Based on the
case study, the Swatch Group has been designed luxurious watches afforded by high-class people
in society. However, it also designs plastic watches that are affordable to low-class people.
Furthermore, it is widely known for its Flik Flak watches, a popular kids' watch.
