DICTIONARY
 1. Button
This symbol indicates where the button the garment should be placed.

2. Button hole placement

This symbol indicates where the button goes.

3. Center Front

4. Circumference
This refers to the circumference of the bustline, waistline and hip area.
5. Cross Grain

6. Cutting line
This indicates where you should cut.

7. Darts
Lines indicate areas of fullness and stitch line

8. Dots

9. Grain line
Place on straight grain of fabric parallel to selvage.

10. Lengthen/Shortening line

 Where you can make adjustments to shorten (fold) or lengthen (cut) the pattern
piece.

11.Notches
To assemble the garment.

12.Stitching Line

Indicates where you should stitch or sew.

13. Side Seam

This indicates where a side seam on the garment should go
