ANOVA stands for Analysis of Variance.

It is a statistical test developed by Ronald Fisher

Analysis of variance is a collection of statistical models and their associated estimation
procedures used to analyze the differences among means. ANOVAs test the relationship
between categorical variables and numerical variables by testing for differences between two
or more ways. This test produces a p-value to determine whether the relationship is
significant or not. When we want to test the hypothesis, we will use Analysis of Variance
(ANOVA) with an alpha level of 0.05. ANOVA help us to understand how different groups
respond in terminate decay evaluation on treated Wood Species, with a null hypothesis for
the test that the means of the different groups are equal. The null hypothesis in ANOVA is
always that there is no difference in means. The research or alternative hypothesis is always
that the means are not all equal and is usually written in words rather than in mathematical
symbols. We try to perform statistical test using excel and Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences (SPSS). A one way ANOVA is used to compare two means from two independent
(unrelated) groups using the F-distribution. The null hypothesis for the test is that the two
means are equal. Therefore, a significant result means that the two means are unequal.
