E3051 - ELECTRIC REAR WINDOWS

DESCRIPTION
The electric windows in the rear doors are activated using the switch of the relevant door or by the controls
located on the driver's front door.
The controls sent by the driver’s side control panel always have a higher priority with respect to those of the rear
doors.
The raising and lowering the windows is controlled manually: the window is raised by keeping the button raised,
and is lowered by keeping it pressed.
The rear control lock (protection) is operated by means of an inhibition button on the driver’s side control panel:
the rear electric windows cannot be operated using any of the rear buttons when the lock function is activated.
The electric window function operates only with the ignition on (”Comfort Enable” operation), with the following
exception: after a key-off, the windows can be operated for 3 minutes; when this time period elapses, the system
no longer acquires new commands.
The function deactivates immediately when one of the side doors is opened.
The window raising/lowering circuit is supplied by the line protected by two dedicated fuses in the Body
Computer.
Electric window system initialisation.
The following electric window system reset procedure must be performed in the event of:
- interruption of the power supply: battery replacement or disconnection, protective fuse replacement,
etc…
- replacement of any component of the system (motors, electric windows, window housing seals, window
panes, etc…).
The initialisation procedure must be carried out with the doors closed and for each door, as described
below:
- fully close the window to be initialised, with manual operation;
- after the window has reached the upper end of travel, hold the up button down for at least 3 seconds.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Body Computer M001 receives direct battery power supply (pin A of connector A) protected by fuse F01 of the
engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 9 of connector B); it also receives key-on power supply ("INT") at pin
12 of connector H.
Body Computer M001 is also connected to the driver's dashboard earth C015 via pins 1 and 11 of connector G.
The Body Computer M001 - pin 53 of connector F - enables (”Comfort Enable” operation) the electric window
control unit on the driver's side front door H044 (pin 1).
If the rear electric window inhibition button is deactivated (condition con rmed by the rear control lock LED
switching off), the enable comes from the control unit H044 (pin 11) to the electric window switches on the rear
left H053 and right H054 door (pin 5). This positive enable signal also causes the control lighting LED to switch
on.
The Body Computer M001 supplies direct battery power to the left H053 and right H054 (pin 1) rear electric
window control units via two lines protected by fuses F33 and F34 (from pins 19 and 2 respectively of M001
connector E).
The electric window control unit on the driver's side front door H044 can also control both the rear
left N065 and the rear right N066 electric window motors (through the combination of relay
switches inside the dedicated panels H053 and H054), speci cally:
from pin 2, to close the left window (pin 1 of N065) - through pins 7 and 4 of H053 -;
from pin 3, to open the left window (pin 2 of N065) - through pins 6 and 3 of H053 -;
from pin 7, to close the right window (pin 1 of N066) - through pins 7 and 4 of H054 -;
from pin 8, to open the right window (pin 2 of N066) - through pins 6 and 3 of H054 -.
Further connections for control unit H044 are reserved for front electric window movement.

The control panels in the left H053 and right H054 rear doors, through the combination of internal
relay switches, only control the corresponding electric window motors, speci cally:
from pin 4 of H053, to close the left window (pin 1 of N065);

from pin 3 of H053, to open the left window (pin 2 of N065);
from pin 4 of H054, to close the right window (pin 1 of N066);
from pin 3 of H054, to open the right window (pin 2 of N066).
The electric window control panels, H044 (pin 12) on the driver’s side door is connected to the passenger side
dashboard earth C020.
The electric window control units on the left H053 and right H054 rear doors (pin 2) are connected to the rear left
C030 (connector B) and passenger side dashboard C020 earths respectively.
