People have different beliefs. It’s quite fine actually that
people believe different things and that it can be a good
thing. Hence, its better is to be understanding that it’s not
what people believe, but what they do in life that matters.
However, sometimes our beliefs shape our thinking, which
influences our behavior when facts and reason alone don’t
that bring them to our negativity instinct which causes us to
notice the bad more than the good. There is a 7-step guide
which will assist us on how we ought to act about

2 7 STEPS OF MORAL REASONING
1 STEP: GATHERING THE FACTS - Gather the facts to simplest way to clarifying an ethical dilemma.

3 STEP: IDENTIFYING THE PRINCIPLES - It is identifying the relevant factors. In moral dilemma, the
moral values or principles that are vital to rival positions being taken.
4 STEP: LISTING THE ALTERNATIVES - Think creatively about possible solutions to your dilemma.
The more you list, the more likely you are to come up with a really good one. It will also assist you
in coming up with a broader range of ideas.
5 STEP: ALTERNATIVES VS PRINCIPLES - Compare the alternatives to the virtues / principles This
step eliminates alternatives by weighing them against the moral principles that are relevant to the
case. Because all but one alternative has been eliminated, the problem may be resolved here.
6 STEP: WEIGHING THE CONSEQUENCES - Consider the consequences If your principles haven't
led you to a clear decision, think about the consequences of your alternatives.
7 STEP: MAKING A DECISION - Is the application of critical analysis to specific events in order to
determine what is right or wrong and what people should do in a given situation.
