Narda (2006)
Song

Narda is an Original Pinoy Music (OPM) song by the band Kamikazee that was
released from their second album, Maharot, in 2006. Darna, a classic Filipino comic
book character, had a significant influence on the song's lyrics. According to the main
point of the song, a man falls in love with a woman he believes is out of his league, and
he realizes he won't be able to pursue that person and has little chance of finding love in
return from her. And the ideal woman he was referring to is Narda, who is likened to
Darna, the real-life superheroine and a symbol of women in general. Considering that
Darna is a fictional character, the man resembles the woman he likes to Darna, whom
he believes he will never be able to have.

There is also a part in which Darna's usual activities are referenced in the song's
lyrics, and he relates it to the woman he likes. Such as " Tumalon kaya ako sa bangin,
para lang iyong sagipin, ito ang tanging paraan, para mayakap ka,” he wonders if he
were in serious danger, she might finally recognize him and give him proper attention,
allowing her to see his love for her. Darna is known for her ability to find and save
people's lives in general, so he associated this concept with the person he adores who
is hard to get.
