Feasibility of Producing Cardboard Food Packaging using Banana Peels

(Musa) and Mango Peels (Mangifera Indica)

Revised Copy

Scope and Limitation

This study mainly focuses on the feasibility of producing food packaging using the
components banana peels and mango peels. The researchers will be conducting tests in
terms of durability and water retention. With the estimation duration, the study is expected to
be performed from May to June. The researchers will be limited only to use the cellulose
fibers from the peels. The cardboard food packaging produced from the experiment would
be limited to prototype sheets of cardboard.

Engineering Goals
The produced cardboard will be used for food packaging. The researchers expect
that the alternative cardboard food packaging will have the same function as cardboard food
packaging in terms of durability and water retention test.

Risks
The use of sharp tools such as knives and stove and blender may lead to some
accidents if not properly handled. The apparatus and materials to be used in the experiment
are limited and the place to conduct the study is not suited for experimenting. The
researchers will seek help from adults in accessing the materials and guidance in
experimenting.
