5 minutes - Share a biography example
on the whiteboard with errors.
Model how I would go through the
checklist.
Begin by doing it alone and thinking out
loud, then have students help.
10 minutes - Give them a copy to work on
in their groups.
10 minutes – discuss and show changes.
For the remaining time students work at
their own pace:
- Those finishing writing and research
come see me.
- Students go through their checklist
independently to check their work and
make any adjustments.
- Then they pair up and go through
together.
- Once they are done that process,
students should create their final draft.
Math (85m)

10 minutes - Begin with mad minutes
practice.
10 minutes - Number talk for 4x.
Rotate through math centers so I can
check in with each group:
1. Math facts game – printed off board
game with multiplication facts
2. Computer – Mathletics practice
3. Independent Work – Finish station
booklets then mathletics
4. Teacher time:
Group 1: Review the basics of
multiplication, some are still adding.
Group 2: Focus on finishing 1A, then
move on to the next.
Group 3: Focus on finishing 1A, then
move on to the next.
Group 4: Give out 2A for multi-digit
station and talk through it together.
