Statistics and Probabilities

Performance Task 2

Lesson Reflection: (about the topics on Module 1 and 2)

My journey through this lesson enabled me to learn- probability distribution

functions can be used to “quantify” and “describe” random variables, they can be used
to determine statistical significance of estimated parameter values, they can be used to
predict the likelihood of a specified outcome, and also to calculate the likelihood that an
outcome falls .

It made me realize that- The probability distribution of a random variable x tells us what
the possible values of x are and what probabilities are assigned to those values. A
discrete random variable has a countable number of possible values.

I, therefore, commit to- probability is useful when you can determine that the
outcomes of your decisions are, for the most part, predictable based on your own or
others' past experiences.
