1. what is the difference between neurotransmitters and
neuromodulators?

Neurotransmitters create action potentials, activate postsynaptic


receptors, and open ion channels, whereas neuromodulators do not
create action potentials but regulate ion channel activity.
2. what is an example of a hormone and its function?

Hormones can be natural or synthetic. The natural ones are secreted


by the different glands of the endocrine system. Furthermore,
depending on their chemical nature, they can be derived from amino
acids: peptidic or lipidic.
