1.0 Objective
- The purpose of this method statement is to describe the outline of Testing & Commissioning for overall
plumbing services.

3.0 Definition
- This method statement describes the Testing & Commissioning procedure for the completed CWSP & RWDP
at the AFFIN BANK BERHAD Tower from basement 3 to roof

5.2 Tools / Equipment /Testing Instruments
- Pressure Gauges
- Clamp Ammeter

5.3 T&C Methodology
- Ensure that the pump installation is complete and mechanical completion

is approved.
- Ensure that no damage occurs between mechanical completion & pre-

commissioning.
- Repair all damages to the equipment paint finish.

- Ensure that the pumps are identified location wise and service wise.
- Note the details of each motor such as make, model number, frame size, KW rating and
RPM
- Check that the Chiller water & Condenser pump piping network is complete with proper
valves, pressure switches and instruments in place as per final approved shop drawing.
- Ensure the pump shafts are rotated by hand freely.
- Ensure that electrical power connections and earthing is proper.
- Ensure that the field wiring is pre-tested for continuity and insulation resistance.
- Ensure that all the relevant valves are in open position. Pump discharge valve should be in
closed position. Direction of rotation and RPM shall be checked during commissioning.
- Check the pumps are properly bolted
- Check for proper installation of pressure
gauges. Check identification and labeling
for equipment.

- Check current, voltage & rpm of the motor & record

the values.
- Check & ensure that the pumps shut off at low water
level.
- The wiring diagram of pump controls & schematic piping shall be displayed near or inside
the control panel.

6.0 T&C For Soil Pipe Flow Test
6.1 Reference

- Adequate Water Supply
6.3 T&C Methodology
a) Stack Pipe, WC Outlet & Basin Outlet
- Check to ensure that entire test piping is completed.
- Check and ensure that piping to be tested has sufficient hangers and brackets.

- Fill test pipe with running water for 15 minutes.
- Check the entire test pipeline for leakages or chokes.
- Mark all the leakage point ( if any )
 Drain the entire test water by opening isolating valve.
 Repair / make good all leakage point noted.
 Repeat the procedure ( c, d, e ) until there are no more leakages.
- If no leakage or choke is detected then the test is considered successful.

7.0 T&C For RWDP Flow Test
7.1 Reference

7.3 T&C Methodology
a) Roof to Level 27
- Check to ensure that entire test piping is completed.
- Check and ensure that piping to be tested has sufficient hangers and brackets.
- Fill test pipe with running water for 15 minutes.
- Check the entire test pipeline for leakages or chokes.
- Mark all the leakage point ( if any )
 Drain the entire test water by opening isolating valve.
 Repair / make good all leakage point noted.
 Repeat the procedure ( c, d, e ) until there are no more leakages.
- Ensure the water discharge from the collection area reached rainwater harvesting tank at level 27.
b) Level 27 to P1
- Before the water discharge enters to the RWHT, ensure the water discharge is flow through the first flush
filter in order to remove any dirt or leaves so that only clean water enters the tank.
- From the RWHT, ensure the overflow discharge reach rainwater harvesting tank at P1
- If no leakage or choke is detected then the test is considered successful.

8.0 T&C For Water Tank Chlorine Sanitization Test
8.1 Reference
- N/A
- Chlorine
8.3 T&C Methodology
- Ensure all the valves for the water tank is tightly closed after water is fully filled
- Once the water tank is full, pour in the chlorine inside the water tank and leave for 24 hours to let the chlorine
absorb all the dirt inside the water tank.
- After 24 hours, open back the drain valve to release all the dirt water which absorbed by chlorine.

9.0 T&C For WC Flushing Test
- Ensure the water is full inside the cistern before start the flushing test.
- Press the Flush button and monitor the WC outlet for the flush water discharge.
- If the water flows freely and did not backflows, then the test is considered successful.
