Learning At the end of this course, students should be able to:

1.1 Discuss basic theories of social casework, such as the person in his/her social environment, casework relationship, selected practice framework
as they apply to the process of helping individuals and their families.
1.2 Explain the SW process of helping individuals and families and corresponding skills of the social worker from Intake to Termination.
1. Differentiate between case management and social casework processes of working with individuals and their families experiencing difficulty
because of gender bias, calamitous events, culture-based violence, and others
2. Affective
2.1 Discriminately apply values, principles of casework in the helping relationship between clients and the social worker.
2.2 Utilize appropriately the professional self in the helping relationship.
3. Psychomotor
3.1 Demonstrate ability to engage clients in the helping relationship particularly in defining and assessing the difficulty through the Intake interview.
3.2 Exhibit beginning competency in the use of selected practice frameworks, models and approaches to respond adequately to emerging problems of
individual clients and their families such as gender based-violence, family conflict, role reversal, older persons abuse, and similar situations.
3.3 Demonstrate reflexivity in process recording, journal writing, and preparation of case studies.

Grading System Grading System (Sec. 10, Title 2 of Student Handbook 2019)
1. The grading system is the CARREON Method. There shall be two (2) grading periods in a regular semester: Midterm,
and Final periods. In each period, a weight of 50% for midterm and 50% for final is given.
2. There shall be one (1) grading period in summer only final.
3. Grades for each period are based on the following:
