Journal #2 (Sampuso): Your Presence gives Peace!

1. Do you experience God accompanying you as you do your daily tasks? How?

It is not a cause for despair. We do God's work when called upon to do it in some special
way, then we go back to living daily life in a Godward way. With everything from school
and work to family and friends, it can often feel like we don't have time to breathe and
remember God—but it's in those small, quiet moments that we feel Him the most. Allow
ourself moments of stillness throughout the day, taking the time to search for His presence.

2. Does it make a difference when you recognize God accompanying you in your daily
activities? How?

We’re told to look for God in many places—in the scriptures, in our daily prayers, in our
weekly worship—but God is everywhere. His presence surrounds us. Once we realize this,
we can begin to learn how to find Him in our daily lives. Consider ways we can find him
in our life, no matter what we’re doing or where we’re going. An easy way to celebrate
His presence in our life is to find reasons to be grateful. Search for things to be thankful for
throughout our day—even if they may seem small and silly at first.

3. What good does it bring others that you are manifesting the virtue of peace in your
relationships? Explain.

Wisdom is the gift of knowing the right choices to make to live a holy life. The gift of
wisdom helps you to avoid the things that could lead you away from God. Understanding
is the gift of comprehension, or the ability to grasp the meaning of the teachings of the
Church. The gift of understanding helps you be tolerant and sympathetic of others. It
helps you sense when someone is hurting or in need of compassion. Right Judgment, or
Counsel, is the gift of prudence. The gift of right judgment helps you make choices to live
as a faithful follower of Jesus. Courage, or Fortitude, is the gift that helps you stand up for
your faith in Christ. The gift of courage helps you overcome any obstacles that would
keep you from practicing your faith. Knowledge is the gift of knowing and enlightenment.
The gift of knowledge enables you to choose the right path that will lead you to God. It
encourages you to avoid obstacles that will keep you from him.
