ABSTRACT
Service in House sick is service which emphasizing multi-disciplinary aspects . One of the
universal precautions in the hospital is the behavior of nurses in preventing phlebitis. phlebitis is
wrong one infection nosocomial. Behavior per nurse in prevention and control infection
Hospitals are a benchmark for the success of prevention programs and control Infection This
study aims to see whether there is a relationship between the implementation of standard
precautions and the incidence of phlebitis.
The method used in this research is descriptive analytic design with a cross sectional approach .
The population of this study is 32 respondents. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The
instruments used are cusinary sheets and observation sheets. The data were analyzed using the Chi square
statistical test with a significance value of <0.05.

The results showed that there was a significant relationship in the application of standard precautions
with the incidence of phlebitis with p value = 0.011, where 0.011 < 0.05 which means the relationship
between the implementation of standard precautions and the incidence of phlebitis.
The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the implementation of
standard precautions with the incidence of phlebitis at the TK II Robert Wolter Mongisidi
Hospital Manado. The suggestions of this study can be a guide for further researchers.
