"Cover Letter Writing Guidelines"

*Follow with a second paragraph

As continuation to the opening paragraph, the second or the middle paragraph should contain
your brief background overview na relevant po sa position na ina-applyan mo if ever your are
applying for a specific job. Analyze the job skills that the employer/company desires and then
write your qualifications, achievements, skills and specialties that will complement your job
application.
na iyon sa role that you are applying for.

*Finish with a closing paragraph

The closing paragraph will be your supporting paragraph to the second one. This part will be
your opportunity to tell your specific stories regarding your skills. Through those stories, ma-co-
Magfocus lamang po only
to the most important ones and as much as possible, keep it short and on point. When telling
your skills, make sure that it will create an impact on the employer. Iwasan ang mga too broad
at malalabong explanations.

As much as possible, 1 page cover letter lamang po ang gawin natin because most of the
employers do not have the energy to ready more than a single page cover letter paper.

*End with a professional signoff

This will be the last part of your paper. It is the conclusion of your cover paper meaning, ito na
This part will not only end the cover letter on a positive note but will also cement the fact that
you are the ideal candidate for the job you are applying to. Thank the employer’s time and
consideration in reading your paper. Lastly, conclude your cover letter with some closings like
“sincerely” and leave your signature at the end.

"Additional"
*Margins and alignment
Ang margin po natin sa in creating cover letter is only 1-inch. We also need to align our text to
the left. If our letter is too long, we can consider using ¾ or ½ margins so that we can shrink our
letter sa 1 page lamang. Take note, ¾ or ½ margin should be the maximum, avoid po natin ang
paggamit ng mas maliit pa rito.
*File format
File format will also play its contribution to your cover letter. Dapat na sundin po natin ang
required file format na sinabi o ipinapa-pasa ng employer and if there ano no announcement, it
is best to use Word document or a PDF one. We should also rename the file using this format:
“First Name-Last Name-Cover-Letter”. It is the best way for the employer to easily know kung
sino po ang nagsubmit ng file.

"Cover letter example"

Always START WITH YOUR HEADER. It contains your contact information so that if you
succeed in your application, mas madali ka pong mako-contact ng employer.

As we can see here, She — Anne, state her Full Name, Contact Number, and Email Address.

After that, your GREETINGS should follow.

OPENING PARAGRAPH should come next wherein your interest in the job, role, and the
company are stated. Make it fascinating, remember, “First impression lasts.” The employer will
most likely remember you through your opening statement/s.
Followed by the latter paragraphs that will support the first one.

As we can see, Anne, the sender, used a simple and professional approach when it comes to
font selection. The spacing, which is single-spaced, ay na-execute niya rin po ng naaayon. The
appropriate length, suitable margins, and proper alignment were also followed.

Lastly, a cover letter should end END WITH A PROFESSIONAL SIGN-OFF.

Here, she thanked the employer for his/her time and consideration. She also left a note saying,
“I look forward to learning more details about the position and company.”
A right complimentary
close — “Sincerely”.
