RESEARCH GAP In spite of the number of similar researches conducted related to this study, there is a death on empirically-based
information related to assessing the research competence of Basic Education Teachers in the University and a sustainable Research

skills 3. Is there a significant difference on the respondents’ research competence when grouped according to their profile variables? 4. Is
there a significant relationship between the respondents’ profile variables and their research competence? 5. What program can be
developed in order to sustain research capacity building among teachers of the University’s basic Education Program?
