Head OF LABORATORY I DEPUTIZED:
1. Reports to the Laboratory
2. Ensures that Laboratory calling Cascade
is initiated
3. Contact ICC upon arrival for briefing
4. Immediately does a stock count of blood
and blood components
5. Prepare Lab for emergency tests
6. Inform ICC of blood and blood products
status as soon as possible and monitor
closely. Reports the need for blood donors
to ICC and prepare to receive donors.
7. Will be prepared to give phlebotomy
services assistance to Physicians and
Nurses as needed.
HEAD OF ICU / DEPUTIZED:
1. Initiates ICU Medical Calling Cascade
2. Reports to ER to receive a status report of the
disaster from the Chief of ER.
3. Coordinates the evacuation of all ICU patients
to the 2nd floor.
4. Assists in the treatment of Red tagged patients
in ER.
HEAD OF SURGERY / DEPUTIZED:
1. Initiates the Surgical Department Calling
Cascade.
2. Reports to ER to receive a status report of
the disaster from the Head of ER.
3. Responsible for the clinical decisions.
4. Delegate the Resident to assist wards and
units to either transfer or to discharge stable
and elective patients.
5. Delegate a Surgeon to either proceed to OR
for Surgery or to assist in ER.
6. Coordinate priorities of surgeries and
functionality of the Surgical Team and OR
during the Disaster.
7. Liaise the Anesthesia services with the Head
of Anesthesia.
Head OF ER I DEPUTIZED:
1. Activate Code Yellow after discussion with the
Hospital Director. FULLY LEAD ER
2. Mobilize 2 Field triage Doctors with 2 Nurses by
2 ambulances.
3. Start the ER Physicians Calling Cascade
4. Report the status to the Medical Director and
continue to keep ICC informed of the disaster
status through the Medical Director
5. Alert the ICC when the maximum number of
patients has been received in the hospital.
6. Communicates with the ER Charge Nurse (if an
overload exists) in an area of need.
7. Coordinates Physician assignments to patients
and priority area.
8. Monitors the need for Consultants as required for
casualties.
9. Coordinates Triage in the disaster site at the
facility until relieve.
10. Inform the ICC when the last patient has been
sent from the Field Triage to ER.
11. Announce Code Green clear after receiving
confirmation from both ICC and Field Triage
Doctor.
HEAD OF PEDIATRICS I DEPUTIZED
1. Initiates the Pediatric Department Calling
Cascade, share pediatric management from
ER
2. Reports to head of ER to receive a status
report.
3. Will delegate the discharge and transfer of
patients.
4. Will assign a Pediatrician to assist in
transporting.
5. Will assign a Pediatrician to assist in
transporting patients from ER to other units.
HEAD OF BIOMEDICAL DEPARTMENT
1. Ensure availability of Biomedical Engineers,
Technicians and staff to be sent where
requested.
2. Ensure good distribution of equipment where
needed.
