Y en esta misma posición se realiza el transporte a flote del Genera-
dor mediante el uso de una embarcación de remolque (fig.15), cuan-
do sea necesario su traslado a tierra o bien cuando se transporte des-
de tierra hasta la vertical del punto de operación.

8. Conclusiones
A la vista del trabajo realizado en la fase de definición del proyecto
GESMEY, cuyos aspectos más significativos se han reflejado en este
trabajo, se concluye que se han logrado los objetivos de diseños pro-
puestos ya que:
• GESMEY representa un nuevo concepto de generador eléctrico sub-
marino que permite explotar la energía de las corrientes marinas si-
tuadas a profundidades superiores a los 40 metros
• GESMEY puede considerarse como un primer ejemplo de lo que
puede ser ya una segunda generación conceptual de dispositivos de
generación
• GESMEY tiene un diseño conceptual muy simple, lo que supone una
estructura robusta y de fácil construcción

• GESMEY tiene un impacto mínimo sobre el medio ambiente mari-
no, ya que trabaja sumergido pero no requiere apoyo directo sobre
el suelo marino
• GESMEY al final de su vida útil puede ser removido de un modo
sencillo y con muy poco coste, sin problema alguno para el ecosis-
tema marino
• GESMEY tiene la capacidad explotar corrientes con velocidad máxi-
ma inferior a los 2 m/s
• GESMEY requiere para su fijación en operación de un sistema de
fondeo sencillo y de poco coste, además de suponer un mínimo im-
pacto sobre el ecosistema marino
• GESMEY no necesita disponer de buques especiales o de artefactos
offshore complejos, ni para su transporte, ni para su posicionamien-
to en operación, ni para su mantenimiento
• GESMEY puede ser transportado en superficie mediante remolque
en flotación por medio de un remolcador normal.
• GESMEY tendrá un ciclo de vida de menor coste ya que su mante-
nimiento será más barato que los de los generadores existentes, en
base a la facilidad de emersión, transporte y remoción.
