Assignment Guide for IH 213 Health Promotions for Equity and Sustainable Development
Good Day fellow learners here are your guidelines for the assignments required in this course. Re-
call that there are 3 FMAs (Faculty Marked Assignments) for this course. Each assignment (FMA)
focuses on specific units in the course and measures how much you have learned from them. Read care-
fully the situations in each assignment and answer the questions as comprehensively. Templates are
provided to help guide you in answering the questions. Assessment rubrics are also provided to help
you achieve the maximum scores in each assignment.
FMA1
1. The objectives of FMA 1 are to identify and explain issues on global health, equity and social devel-
opment, identify Millennium Developmental Goals, relate health, equity and social develop- ment to
global issues, relate health, equity and social development to global issues to the millen- nium devel-
opmental goals and explain Global Issues related to: Health, Equity, and Social Devel- opment.
This FMA comprises 25% of your final grade. Assessment rubric is as follows:

1. Applying what you learn in Module 1 Make a conceptual framework of the different global is-
sues confronting the world. (Link those issues to the health status of the people)
Assignments and other requirements for the course are required to be submitted on a specified date.
What is a hard deadline? This is a date after the submission date of the
assignment depending on instructions for the assignments and other requirements, the student is allowed
to submit these aforementioned requirements however a 50% will be deducted to the score of the learn- er.
Hard deadline is a week after the submission date.
FMA2
2. The objectives of this assignment are to explain and enumerate Social Determinants of
Health, define and explain the framework of Social Determinants of health and relate the
framework of social determinants of health in their respective country.
Choose one health program in your country. Evaluate the health program in terms of its policy/
policies implementation. Does it address the right based approach? Health Literacy? Social Health
Insurance?

3. The objectives of this assignment are to explain the Programs and Policies addressing Health,
Equity and Social Development , define and appreciate Right Based Approached, Health Lit-
eracy Level and Social Health Insurance, apply what was learned to their own county,
explain monitoring and evaluation of health promotion programs and poli- cies and identi-
fy various health programs and policies at the country level
