PUTRI CERMIN CINA

  A long time ago, there was a kingdom in Jambi. That was ruled by king Sultan Mambang
Matahari. He had a son and a daughter, they were Tuan Muda Selat and Putri Cermin Cina. His
son had a handsome face but he was such a reckless boy, while the daughter is so beautiful. She
had white skin like a Chinese girl. Because of that, she was called "Putri Cermin Cina"
  One day, a well-known merchant visited the kingdom. That merchant was Tuan Muda
Senaning. He visited the kingdom because he had some trade business.
 
The king welcomed Tuan Muda Senaning with a banquette. Together with his son and his
daughter. When had their serve, Tuan Muda Senaning fell in love with Putri Cermin Cina.
Secretly the Putri Cermin Cina also had the same feeling. Then since that banquette, they started
to build a love relationship.
One day, Tuan Muda Senaning purposed Putri Cermin Cina "My princess, would u like to marry
me?" "um yes, but I want u to ask my father permission to marry me.." Said Putri Cermin Cina
blushingly.
Then, Tuan Muda Senaning met the king Sultan Mambang Matahari, He told his intention to
purpose Putri Cermin Cina. The king saw the determination from Tuan Muda Senaning. Without
hesitation, he gave his permission. Tuan Muda Senaning was happy, He started to set a plan for
his wedding with Putri Cermin cina.
 
One day, Sultan Mambang Matahari went sailing. In the kingdom, Tuan Muda Senaning and
Tuan Muda Selat were played at the top. They really enjoy it, they played it until they laughed
really loud.
Inside the palace, Putri Cermin Cina was shocked when she heard her brother and her husband
laugh really loud. Putri was wondering about what was going on??. She opened the window and
looked outside through it.
 Tuan Muda Selat was too excited, he threw the top too hard. The top was flying high in the air.
Suddenly, something bad happened, the top fell down on the Putri Cermin Cina's crown head.
The bottom of the top was sharp and it hurt Putri Cermin Cina's head so bad. Putri Cermin Cina
fell down and she was unconscious. 
 
Tuan Muda Senaning ran hurriedly towards her, he took Putri Cermin Cina’s head that was
covered by blood then put Putri Cermin Cina head in his lap. Suddenly, tears were flowing from
Tuan Muda Senaning’s eyes when he felt no breath come out from Putri's nostril. Putri Cermin
Cina died.
“Please don’t leave me, I cannot live without you. I would rather die to” Tuan Muda Senaning
lost his control, he ran inside the palace and took a spear. Then he stabbed himself using that
spear, Tuan Muda Senaning fell down to the ground and he died. 
Meanwhile, Tuan Muda Selat was confused about what was happening. He was afraid of the
king knew he would be furious. He can only scream for help. 
“Help, Help me!!” Then the kingdom family and royal soldiers came to give help. They took
care of Putri Cermin cina and Tuan Muda Selat’s bodies. 
The funeral was done concurrently with the arrival of the king from his sail. King was so sad
when he knew his daughter was dead. But then he turned to be furious when he knew the cause
of his daughter’s death. 
“Selat !!! you’re the one to blame, because of you, your sister's death! “ He then cursed the place
where Putri Cermin Cina was killed to be Kampung Selat.
 To forget this terrible incident, Sultan Mambang Matahari decided to build a new palace. He left
his old palace uninhabited. He build a palace between his old kingdom or known as Kampung
Selat and a place where he learned his ship from sailing. Now the new Kingdom known as
Kampung Tengah Lubuk Ruso.
